Quest Health & Performance is a progressive sports medicine practice that addresses the whole person, body and mind. Whether it’s through physical therapy, mindset and mental health coaching, bike fitting, or endurance sports coaching, we combine our diagnostic & problem-solving skills with data and science to help endurance athletes (runners, cyclists, swimmers, triathletes & duathletes) train &

race to their maximal potential to reach their goals. While we specialize in endurance athletes, you don’t have to be an athlete to be a client with Quest. We love to help anyone who wants to improve their physical and/or mental health through natural techniques that don’t focus on medications, injections, or surgery. We are strong believers that “exercise is medicine” for a wide range of physical and mental health issues. We will recommend the best path for your goals, but you are in control of getting there with our skills, coaching, and guidance. Physically, we treat orthopedic (bone, muscle, or joint) issues and sports injuries. Many times you won't even have to stop training while receiving therapy. We focus on active recovery to keep you training during therapy. We also know you don't want to spend hours per week in therapy. This means less time away from family, work, or other activities you would rather be doing. Our goal is to identify & diagnose your problem, not just treat your symptoms. Then we design & implement a treatment plan that resolves your pain, improves your strength & mobility, and allows you to participate fully in the activities that you love, as quickly as possible. If you're interested in getting faster, going further, and/or training with less risk of injury, online coaching services are available to improve your endurance sports performance. We also offer custom bike fitting to cyclists on any type of bicycle to allow you to ride comfortably, without pain, and at optimal performance. Fitness and wellness are also high priorities and a physical therapist can design or modify exercise routines for you to accommodate physical limitations, pain, or medical conditions/diseases to allow you to maximize your health and fitness. For your convenience, we offer customized online fitness training that you can do at home or at the gym. Jeanne Williams, PT, DPT, OCS is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with over 25 years of experience, as well as a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, a certified triathlon and cycling coach, and certified bike fitter. She also enjoys competing in cycling, running and the multisport world as well. No physician referral is required to see a PT in Tennessee so there is no long wait to start your therapy. Listening to Dr. discuss metabolic testing, fuel utilization, and physiology for athletes. (I’ve been a huge fan of his research ever since I heard him present at the Medicine of Cycling conference many years ago!) He specifically said that cyclists have been found to be taxed metabolically when in the most aerodynamic position in the wind tunnel. He advocated that getting cyclists in the most biomechanically optimized position (fancy description of a good bike fit!) for metabolic function could result in 10-minute gains on race day for pros.

If a pro could shave 10 minutes of their bike time when they’re looking for “marginal gains,” think how much more recreational cyclists and triathletes could benefit from a biomechanically-based bike fit! Our focus at Quest for bike fitting is improving comfort and optimized biomechanics for ideal breathing/oxygenation and injury prevention. I love seeing more science that backs up what we do in the clinic!

Thank you for helping more women have a seat at the table as CEOs and business owners! In the traditionally white-male dominated triathlon world, Vic is leading the helm as CEO of ! Industry partners in endurance sports are more open to having conversations with women leaders because of her role. She’s incredibly approachable, down to earth, an active Multisport athlete and women’s advocate. As part of the Women’s Business Course at USA Triathlon’s Endurance Exchange, she closed out our course and shared these thoughts:

➡️ We need to own the power, resilience and determination of our gender.
➡️ Women show up to things and finish them. The Ironman World Championships at Kona last fall is a prime example with the highest finisher rates EVER at Kona.
➡️ Learning and personal development is a continuous process that further grows who you’ve always been.
➡️ The power of the sport is in the community, which is half women. Women-owned and women-run companies can fill that void.

Networking…one of the most valuable things you can do at a conference or event! It’s amazing to sit and talk shop with people you know, people you’ve followed their online presence, people you’ve just met and people you hear present at conferences - I heard Selene Yeager present on menopause at Endurance Exchange last year and loved her! Conference speakers want to network too! Tonight it was fun to sit beside Selene and these other awesome ladies discussing coaching, fueling, menopause, athlete mindset and our businesses. You never know who you can connect with that you may help or they may help you on your journey if you don’t put yourself out there. Thanks and for making time and space for a networking event like this and not just courses! It was a great evening of networking that continued on into dinner together. Women supporting other women needs to be more common and frequent instead of tearing each other down!

Quest Team or Team Quest?!?
How about Yes? Many of you know about, are or have been part of Team Quest (), our privately coached athletes, over the last several years. We love all of you and are grateful for trusting us to help you reach and exceed your goals!

But this post is actually about our Quest Team (our staff at Quest Health & Performance)! This group has grown Quest from a solo provider (Jeanne) to a team of awesome clinicians and coaches with Phil, Matt and Ian! Today all of our staff and spouses (+Baby Bennett as a bonus!) had the chance to get together, eat, hang out, and have fun outside the clinic!

These amazing folks are doing great things to help take care of the endurance athletes of the Knoxville area and beyond! Each one brings to the table unique talents, skills and backgrounds!

I am beyond thankful for all of them for trusting in our vision and mission and for all their contributions! I also can’t miss thanking all the spouses for supporting all of us in this endeavor. We couldn’t do what we do without your love, support and sacrifices! I especially couldn’t have tackled any of this growth without Brent’s support. So a huge thank you to everyone in this picture for our best year so far!

I love these people and I’m so excited for the end of 2023 and the many, many things yet to come in 2024 with them all! Merry Christmas from all of our Quest Team!

We’re thrilled to be helping out , a new fitness neighbor in Bearden, while their new location is not quite finished. For those of you who know, we never could get our past location verified with Google, despite numerous attempts, pictures, emails, etc. over 3.5 years! 🤬

So I’m thrilled we now show up in the right place on Google Maps and we can stop telling clients “don’t type our name into Google maps or you’ll end up in the wrong place. Type in our address.”

This was easy to do because these decorations will only be up for a few weeks with temporary hangers. So if we don’t like it, it’s short-lived. Taking a little longer to figure out the “permanent” wall decor locations at our new location. Part of the “fun” of moving is unpacking everything and re-hanging all your stuff. 😝

For those who have asked after our post about moving day, and for those who may be wondering, yes, we are open and seeing patients and clients for sessions! We only shut down for last Wednesday, although Matt saw a patient before the movers arrived! By Thursday, we were back open in the new location seeing folks! Every day we get more things in place and put away, but all the key functional things are ready to go! Each day you come in things look a little different as we’re getting settled in.

It was so awesome for Matt and Jeanne to both treat someone at the same time Friday and not be overcrowded! We’ve got plenty of space now plus some room in the schedule if you’re ready to get rid of that pain and get back to full capacity! 🚛 It’s moving day for Quest Health & Performance! 🚛

Due to our growth over the past year, we’re relocating and moving in closer to the heart of Knoxville. We’re going to be in Bearden in the Twelve Oaks office plaza at 5401 Kingston Pike, Suite 350.

We are all so excited to be together in this new location with more space to be able to serve our endurance athlete community even better and help you all crush your goals!

Our Story

Quest Health & Performance is a unique physical therapy practice that puts you in the driver's seat to determine how quickly you get back to the active life you love with treatment frequency often once a week or every other week. Jeanne Williams, PT, DPT, OCS is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with over 20 years of experience, is a board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and is a certified bike fitter, USAT and USAC certified coach. She is also a multisport athlete, with a primary love of cycling then running. In addition to physical therapy, Quest also offers sports performance services including bike fitting, lactate threshold testing (bike and run), video running and swimming analysis, Functional Movement Screenings and strength and conditioning training. No physician referral is required to see a PT in Tennessee so there is no long wait to start your therapy.
