💋𝑳𝑰𝑷 𝑭𝑰𝑳𝑳𝑬𝑹: 𝑩𝑹𝑼𝑰𝑺𝑰𝑵𝑮 & 𝑾𝑯𝑨𝑻 𝑻𝑶 𝑾𝑨𝑻𝑪𝑯 𝑭𝑶𝑹💋
These pictures are a great example of how bruising can happen after lip filler. In the first picture, you can see the lips have an extensive blood supply. Even with careful injection technique, a small vessel can be nicked. Bruising, swelling, and tenderness are common and usually temporary. The second picture is my gorgeous patient several hours after her lip filler appointment. Even though I tried my hardest to avoid any vascular structures, you can see the obvious bruise that occurred.
A bruise alone does 𝑵𝑶𝑻 mean something went wrong.
However, patients should always know the difference between expected bruising and symptoms that need immediate attention.
🚨 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞: 🚨
• Increasing or severe pain
• Skin becoming unusually pale, white, gray, dusky, or mottled
• Significant color changes or a net-like appearance
• Skin that feels unusually cool
• Symptoms that are worsening instead of improving
⭐️ Every patient deserves to be informed about their procedure. Understanding the risks, what’s normal afterward, and what symptoms require attention is an essential part of safe filler treatment. Your injector should make sure you’re educated—not just treated. ⭐️
