I found something today that I’m genuinely excited about, both for my own family and for my patients looking for an affordable alternative to traditional health insurance!

CrowdHealth was founded in 2021 by a frustrated dad whose family was paying approximately $1,200/month for decent health insurance. Despite having coverage, he reportedly faced an $8,000 bill for his child’s 15 min ear-tube procedure when insurance denied it.
He decided there had to be a better way after learning being cash pay actually saved money.
Here’s what caught my attention:
💚 $60/month per member in advocacy fees. CrowdHealth helps members navigate medical expenses, negotiate bills, and find more affordable care.
🧡 Community-powered medical funding. Each month, members contribute toward eligible medical needs within the community. Contributions can vary, subject to the program’s stated monthly limits. You can also voluntarily give more!
💚 $500 member commitment per eligible health event. After that, eligible expenses can be submitted for negotiation and community funding.
