Did you know that up to 70% of women who are affected by PCOS remain undiagnosed worldwide. Many women remain undiagnosed until they experience fertility difficulties or develop type 2 diabetes or other cardiometabolic disorders.

We are passionate about helping all of our patients seek diagnosis and treatment for conditions like PCOS, to help prevent more severe health issues later in life and to improve their quality of life.

The symptoms of PCOS may include:

- Missed periods, irregular periods, or very light periods
- Ovaries that are large or have many cysts
- Excess body hair, including the chest, stomach, and back (hirsutism)
- Weight gain, especially around the belly (abdomen)
- Acne or oily skin
- Male-pattern baldness or thinning hair
- Infertility
- Small pieces of excess skin on the neck or armpits (skin tags)
- Dark or thick skin patches on the back of the neck, in the armpits, and under the breasts

If you’ve experienced any of these symptoms, schedule an appointment with us! Our physicians would be happy to help you explore what may be causing your symptoms and help provide a treatment plan that works for you.

Happy Birthday, Momma Mary! 🎂 🥳

Today we celebrate the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary!

Mary’s parents Sts. Anne and Joachim struggled with infertility for many years, but they continued to pray for a child. God rewarded their faithfulness with the promise of a child who will advance God’s plan of salvation for the world.

Join us today in saying a Hail Mary in celebration of Mary’s birth and for those who like Sts. Anne and Joachim, continue to pray for healing and blessings while struggling with infertility! 💙

September is Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) Awareness Month!

Polycystic o***y syndrome (PCOS) is a condition in which the ovaries produce an abnormal amount of androgens, male s*x hormones that are usually present in women in small amounts. The name polycystic o***y syndrome describes the numerous small cysts (fluid-filled sacs) that form in the ovaries. However, some women with this disorder do not have cysts, while some women without the disorder do develop cysts.

PCOS is a serious genetic, hormone, metabolic and reproductive disorder that affects women and girls. It is the leading cause of female infertility and a precursor for other serious conditions including obesity, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and endometrial cancer.

The aim of PCOS Awareness Month is to help improve the lives of those affected by PCOS and to help them to overcome their symptoms as well as prevent and reduce their risks for life-threatening related diseases.

Throughout this month, we’ll be posting more information about PCOS, to help bring awareness to this condition that affects so many women nationwide.

If you suspect you may have PCOS, have a PCOS diagnosis and need help managing your symptoms, or you simply want to consult with one of our doctors to learn more, please reach out! We would love to see you in our office.
