World Thrombosis Day is observed each year on Oct. 13 to raise awareness about blood clots and the importance of prevention, early recognition and timely treatment. Deep vein thrombosis, or DVT, can cause swelling, pain, warmth or redness—often in one leg—and may lead to a pulmonary embolism if a clot travels to the lungs. Knowing your risk factors and recognizing warning signs can help save lives.

If you experience sudden shortness of breath, chest pain, coughing up blood, dizziness or fainting, seek emergency medical care right away.

In honor of Blessed Émilie Gamelin Day, caregivers across both Providence Mission Hospital campuses came together for a simple meal of soup and bread—reflecting Blessed Émilie’s tradition of serving people in need at her own kitchen table.

High school students across Orange County are invited to the Med Tech Expo on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at JSerra Catholic High School in San Juan Capistrano.

Mission Hospital was proud to be part of the recent E-Bike Buy Back event at Angel Stadium, where our team connected with community members about e-bike and bicycle safety.

With e-bike use on the rise, safety education is more important than ever. As a trauma hospital, we know prevention matters—which is why we created the Save the Brain helmet program to encourage helmet use and help protect riders from serious injuries.
