💁♀️My clients tell me all the time: I grew up eating it, it’s still fine for me to feed this to my family. Let’s take a look 👀
🐟Farmed salmon:
that pink color is added through the feed.
Most of what farmed salmon eat is soy and canola oil, not fish. 🤮
Chile used 351 tons of antibiotics on salmon farms in 2024, and it supplies most of the fresh fillets the US imports.
Whereas wild salmon get their color from krill and shrimp.
🥔Pringles:
The can says potato crisps, but the label starts with dried potato flakes, and also a blend of seed oils, corn flour, and rice flour.
Back in 2008 the company agreed to cut acrylamide in half to avoid a California cancer warning.
In 1920, a chip was a potato fried in lard with salt.
🍏Apples:
The shiny ones at the store can be months old. They’re waxed, dipped in fungicide and treated with a gas that stops ripening.
USDA found DPA on 2 in 3 US apples it tested. Europe hasn’t allowed it since 2012.
🥕Baby carrots:
These are just REGULAR carrots, cut down and rinsed in chlorinated water 🙅🏼♀️.
The pesticide USDA detects most on carrots, linuron, isn’t allowed in Europe.
🧀Kraft Singles:
legally it’s a “pasteurized prepared cheese product,” not cheese.
It has natamycin, the same antifungal used in prescription eye drops. WTF.
A farmhouse cheddar needs milk, salt, rennet and culture.
🍗Deli turkey:
modified cornstarch, sodium phosphates and carrageenan keep it wet and sliceable.
Roast turkey is just turkey and salt.
🧈Country Crock:
the best-selling spread in America is soybean, palm and palm kernel oil, colored yellow with beta carotene.
Butter is cream and salt.
🍊SunnyD:
It is only 5% juice. The rest is water, high fructose corn syrup, sucralose and two yellow dyes.
Orange juice is just oranges.
Nobody puts any of this on the front of the pack.
That’s why I use Tallow. Scan any barcode and see what’s really in it.
