✨ A new e-bike is helping Jerry build independence, stay active, and enjoy new opportunities in his community.

Thanks to DDRC’s Self-Determination Initiative (SDI), adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities can access funding for resources, equipment, and experiences that help turn personal goals into reality. For Jerry, who was experiencing mobility and health challenges, that meant an e-bike that helps him get around, explore and work toward new adventures.

“I love my three-wheeler. It’s helping me get stronger, it’s easy to balance, and it’s fun!” he says. And everyone deserves the opportunity to pursue their goals and live a life of choice.

💙🌟 During National Case Management Week, we’re celebrating our dedicated Early Intervention service coordinators who help young children and families every step of the way.

Our Intake Coordinators are often a family’s first connection to Early Intervention, guiding referrals, scheduling evaluations, gathering information, and helping families access supports as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Once a child is eligible, our Service Coordinators partner with families to coordinate services, facilitate IFSP meetings, connect resources, monitor progress, and support transitions.

Together, they build relationships, remove barriers, and help children and families thrive. Thank you to our Intake and Service Coordinators for all you do!

🧩🚶 During October’s Physical Therapy Recognition Month, we celebrate our Early Intervention Physical Therapists and the vital role they play in helping infants and toddlers grow, learn, and participate in everyday activities, from mealtimes and play to community outings.

By coaching and partnering with families, they support the development of movement, strength, balance, and coordination while incorporating strategies into daily routines. They also help families understand their child’s strengths and foster meaningful participation at home and in the community.

👏 Proud to recognize our EI Physical Therapists for all you do!
