Teddy Gant Jr. almost didn't make it into this world. At 12 years old, he learned that his own birth nearly ended in tragedy and decided then that he wanted to change that story for others. Now he is one of the few male doulas in Texas, showing up for Black mothers in Houston where the maternal mortality rate for Black women is nearly three times the national average. More people like Teddy can save lives! https://www.today.com/parents/pregnancy/texas-male-birth-doula-security-guard-second-career-rcna595329
