Teamwork isn’t just something we talk about at Arden Courts of Largo. It’s something we live every day! 💜

Friday was a LOT! Our marketing team was down a person, we had multiple events happening simultaneously, and we desperately needed an extra set of hands.

Our Executive Director, Dea Cruz, stepped up and offered to loan our marketing team one of her very best caregivers for the day — Chaniya!

And let me tell you, Chaniya is a rock star at everything she does!

Bernadette and I were absolutely elated. Just knowing we had someone so capable, dependable, and knowledgeable helping us immediately took away so much stress.

I was able to focus on setting up and enjoying Dr. Gaudino’s educational presentation, while Bernadette had an incredible partner assisting with our Virtual Dementia Training at Encompass Rehab.

It was a win-win-win!

Chaniya did a fantastic job, representing our community with the same compassion, professionalism, and enthusiasm she brings to our residents every day.

And don’t worry, Chaniya… Bernadette and I are already planning when we can steal you again! 😉

This is what true teamwork looks like. Different departments, different responsibilities, but one shared mission. When we support one another, our residents, families, and community partners all benefit.

It’s the people and the willingness to step up for one another that make Arden Courts of Largo so special.

Thank you, Dea and Paige, for sharing your rock star, and thank you, Chaniya, for being exactly that! 💜

Sometimes the greatest lessons in memory care come from the residents themselves. 💜

Yesterday, while Dr. Jon Gaudino was sharing his knowledge about dementia, treatment, and quality of life, I found myself learning a completely different lesson just outside the window.

Several of our residents were enjoying the outdoors. One had dropped a basketball, prompting a little concern from a visitor attending the presentation. Of course, our wonderful nurse Paige came to the rescue!

Meanwhile, another resident was taking her daily constitutional along our walking path. She had moved to Arden Courts of Largo from another community because she missed being outdoors and having the freedom to enjoy nature.

As Dr. Gaudino spoke about the importance of understanding and supporting individuals living with dementia, our residents were demonstrating exactly what quality of life looks like.

Independence. Purpose. Fresh air. Movement. And the freedom to simply enjoy your day.

I sat down yesterday expecting to learn from a physician, and I certainly did. But perhaps the most meaningful lesson came from the residents I have the privilege of spending my days with.

Memory care isn’t just about caring for people living with dementia. It’s about helping them continue to LIVE.

💜 What a busy, beautiful day at Arden Courts of Largo! 💜

Today, Arden Courts of Largo was everywhere, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

🩺 We started our morning with Dr. Jon Gaudino, our in-house physician, who gave an outstanding presentation on dementia, treatment options, and his personal approach to caring for those living with memory loss. He shared his own story, his philosophy of care, and valuable insight into the dementia journey. Thank you, Dr. Gaudino, for such an informative and meaningful discussion!

💜 Meanwhile, Bernadette and our wonderful caregiver Chanaya were at Encompass Rehab celebrating Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Month by providing Virtual Dementia Training to their team!

Anyone who knows Bernadette knows how passionate she is about educating others on helping individuals living with Alzheimer’s and dementia feel included, respected, and understood. And Chanaya? What an incredible caregiver! Her knowledge, compassion, and dedication to memory care shine through in everything she does. We are so proud of them both and grateful for our partnership with Encompass Rehab!

💃 Back at Arden Courts, Cognova brought the energy with Latin American dance therapy! Our residents were moving, dancing, smiling, and enjoying every minute. A special thank-you to our Garden House residents for graciously sharing their community space so everyone could enjoy today’s dance session!

🥪 Of course, we can’t forget Chef Edgar, who prepared delicious sandwiches and his always-amazing cookies for our guests. Thank you to everyone who joined us for Dr. Gaudino’s presentation!

☀️ In between all the excitement, our residents were outside enjoying the beautiful Florida sunshine, making the most of another wonderful day.

🎂 And believe it or not, we even squeezed in a birthday celebration! Because no matter how busy our day gets, there’s always time to celebrate the wonderful people who make our community so special. Birthdays are meant to be celebrated, and we certainly weren’t going to miss an opportunity for a little extra happiness!

Some days in memory care are busy. Some days they’re REALLY busy. And today was one of those days that reminds us why we love what we do.

From physician education to community partnerships, dementia training, music, movement, and meaningful moments with our residents, every part of today had a purpose.

💜 At Arden Courts of Largo, memory care is all we do. And days like today show just how much that means!

A big thank you to Katie Crawford from East Bay Rehab for stopping by Arden Courts of Largo today! 💜

We are so fortunate to be part of such a wonderful healthcare community here in Largo!

At Arden Courts, memory care is what we do best, but caring for our residents takes a village. Sometimes our residents need a hospital stay, rehabilitation, or additional medical support. Having trusted community partners like East Bay Rehab right in our backyard makes those transitions so much easier for our residents and their families.

Great care doesn’t stop at our front door. It’s about building relationships, working together, and making sure our residents receive the support they deserve every step of the way.

Thank you, Katie, for your visit and for being part of our amazing Largo healthcare community! 💜

It’s more than entertainment. It’s connection, purpose, and quality of life! 💜

🚢 10 HOURS OF ACTIVITIES A DAY! 🎉🎶

That’s a lot of activities! But have you ever been on a cruise ship? Well, that’s how we like to think of Arden Courts of Largo! ❤️

Our Life Enrichment team sets the tone for our entire community. From music and movement to laughter, creativity, and meaningful conversations, there’s always something happening!

But life enrichment goes far beyond a 10-hour activity schedule.

It’s about celebrating the seasons, embracing holidays and traditions, sparking memories, and finding meaningful topics that encourage conversation and connection.

Every resident has a unique story, a lifetime of experiences, and a personal journey. Our goal is to honor those stories while creating new moments of joy every single day. 💜

Because in memory care, activities aren’t just about keeping people busy. They’re about creating purpose, encouraging engagement, building friendships, and making every day meaningful.

And just like a great cruise ship, it’s the incredible crew that makes the experience special! 🚢❤️

At Arden Courts of Largo, memory care is all we do, and life enrichment is at the heart of it!

Today, on World Alzheimer’s Day, we join the global community in raising awareness, challenging stigmas, and standing shoulder-to-shoulder with everyone affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

At Arden Courts, our commitment goes beyond providing a safe space, it’s about honoring the person behind the diagnosis every single day. Through purpose-built environments, specialized programming, and a deep understanding of memory loss, our incredible teams strive to enhance quality of life, foster meaningful moments, and support families navigating this journey.

While there is still work to be done in research and advocacy, today is a reminder of the power of education, compassion, and community.
To our residents, families, and dedicated team members: Thank you for inspiring us with your strength, resilience, and grace. Together, we can create a more dementia-friendly world.

💜 Want to get involved? Reach out to one of our local communities to see how you can be a part of our family!

To wrap up National Assisted Living Week, our team at Arden Courts wants to share one more essential myth vs. fact to highlight what sets specialized memory care apart:
Myth: Memory care is simply standard assisted living with locked doors.

Fact: True memory care involves specialized staff training, tailored architectural design, and holistic cognitive programming.

Unlike general assisted living, a dedicated memory care community adapts everything—from building navigation to staff communication techniques—to meet the specific needs of cognitive changes. From environmental design that reduces confusion to care plans centered on individual life stories, specialized care offers support that general senior living simply cannot replicate.

We're continuing our National Assisted Living Week celebration at Arden Courts by tackling another common myth about memory care:
Myth: Individuals living with dementia or Alzheimer's can no longer enjoy meaningful activities or build personal connections.

Fact: People living with memory loss continue to form relationships, learn, and experience joy every single day.

A dementia diagnosis changes how a person navigates the world, but it does not erase their personality, hobbies, or emotional depth. Through tailored engagement, music, sensory experiences, and familiar routines, our care teams foster genuine connection and purposeful living.

National Assisted Living Week is here, and as a team exclusively dedicated to memory care, we are taking this opportunity to clear up some of the biggest misconceptions in our field. First, let's discuss when to make the move:
Myth: Specialized memory care should only be considered in the very late stages of dementia.

Fact: Moving earlier allows residents to build routines, form bonds, and thrive while actively engaging in programming.

Waiting for a crisis often makes transitioning harder for everyone. Entering a supportive memory care environment in early to moderate stages lets individuals adapt comfortably, build strong relationships with caregivers, and maximize their cognitive and social well-being.

09/15/2026

When people hear "memory care," or "assisted living" they often picture quiet hallways and closed doors. But if you walk into Arden Courts on any given Tuesday, you’re much more likely to hear music, shared laughter, and the hum of connection.

A common misconception is that a move to memory care means an end to independence and routine. In reality, it is often a new beginning. By wrapping a secure, purpose-built environment around our residents, and taking care of the daily stressors like cooking, cleaning, and safety oversight, we actually help them regain a sense of freedom. Instead of struggling with daily frustrations, they find space to focus on what still brings them joy: familiar habits, sensory moments, and engaging activities tailored to where they are right now.

National Assisted Living Week is a wonderful reminder to look past the stigmas and celebrate what specialized community living is truly about: supporting dignity, fostering purposeful days, and honoring the individual.
