🇺🇸 Honoring Those Who Served 🇺🇸

Silver Star Home Care owner, Katie Bolton Hartog, recently had the privilege of presenting patriotic quilts to two of the Veterans under our care.

These beautiful quilts were lovingly made by Nancy L Wells and Debbie Waite in memory of Nancy’s husband, Master Sergeant Carl L. Wells, USMC (Ret.), as a heartfelt way to say, “Thank you for your service.”

We are incredibly grateful to Nancy for entrusting these quilts to our Senior & Veteran Services Coordinator, Denise Page, so they could find their way into the homes of Veterans who have served our country.

At Silver Star Home Care, we believe caring for Veterans is about more than providing services. It’s about recognizing their service, hearing their stories, and making sure they know they are remembered, respected, and appreciated.

To these two Vietnam Veterans — welcome home. ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

Today, our Veteran Services Coordinator, Denise Page, had the incredible privilege of meeting Mr. Henry F. Jackson, one of the original Montford Point Marines, along with his wife and daughter. 🇺🇸❤️

Mr. Jackson enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1943, trained at Montford Point while our military was still segregated, and became part of a remarkable group of Marines who helped change American history.

For Denise, who grew up fascinated by military history and political science, this was one of those rare moments when you realize you're not just reading about history—you're sitting beside it.

And there's a sweet personal connection: Mr. Jackson turns 101 on August 26th, the same birthday as Denise's dad, an Air Force Veteran. ❤️

At Silver Star Homecare, we're honored to serve Veterans and help them remain safe, supported, and independent at home. Meeting Mr. Jackson was an extraordinary reminder of the lives and stories behind the Veterans we have the privilege to serve.

Happy 101st Birthday, Mr. Jackson. Semper Fi. 🇺🇸
