Meet Dr. Sarah Bovenberg, M.D., Ph.D.! ✨As a Board Certified Dermatologist and Fellowship-trained Mohs Micrographic Surgeon 🔬, she’s an expert in skin cancer management and treatment. Originally from The Netherlands and an alumna of Leiden University, Dr. Bovenberg’s passion for research brought her to the U.S. as a Fulbright Scholar. She completed her Ph.D. at Harvard Medical School, focusing on gene therapy in cancer treatment, and pursued her medical residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, followed by a Dermatology residency at UC Davis, where she was Chief Resident.

Dr. Bovenberg further honed her skills with a fellowship in Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology at The Methodist Hospital in Houston under Dr. Leonard H. Goldberg 🩺. With numerous academic contributions and extensive experience in Mohs surgery, aesthetic reconstruction 💉, and advanced dermatologic surgeries, she is now bringing her expertise to the Las Vegas metropolitan area.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Bovenberg loves to travel and enjoy the outdoors. An active member of several prestigious dermatology societies, she’s excited to join the Las Vegas Dermatology® team and provide top-notch care to her patients.

Meet PA Joe Gurule! PA Gurule has been in dermatology for over 24 years and has been part of the Las Vegas Dermatology family since 2012. Joe began his career as a PA 42 years ago after graduating from the University of Nebraska with his M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies. PA Joe is passionate about skin health and takes a particular interest in treating skin cancers. Joe is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to skin conditions and has also acted as a sub investigator in many clinical research studies. In his free time, Joe enjoys working on his yard, exercising, and watching sports.
