Getting past food addictions and an eating disorder has taught me a lot. I am not so interested in how long it's going to take. I fell in love with the process of accomplishment. In fact, the process is my favorite part. Whittling away and plugging along to get to my goal. I don't allow myself a bad day in lifting, because just doing it makes a success. You can't get what you want in 30 days or less. It takes time, consistency and patience. Sometimes our character defects turn out to be our best friends and coaches.
I thought I was washed up in competitive powerlifting. Postural Therapy bailed me out. This was just a few days ago, almost 2x my body weight. carolynvanzlow.com

There is no easy way to get healthy and fit. It's a process, best way to handle it? Accept what you need to do and find joy and happiness in the process. Eating, moving, too much sitting, not enough moving is all connected.
Processed foods create more pain due to inflammation. They also create health challenges and brain fog to include numbing us down. So what's the cost? Well..you get to become healthier, reduce prescription drugs, more energy, happier, more confidence, love how you look and less joint pain. Many people including me suffered from food addictions. The frustration is very real and many just don't understand the why? There is a lot of information available how processed foods slow you down, both mentally and physically only to leave you craving more and disappointed in yourself.
Learning to live with no longer eating processed foods left a lot of space in my life. Space if used positively would end up catapulting my life forward into a new adventure I never dreamed possible.
Discipline feels good and looking over what you accomplish far outweighs the taste of processed sugars, breads, bad fats etc. It's as if a huge space cleared up in my head. I feel mentally clear and physically better and more in control.
When it became very apparent a change had to happen, I realized I needed to replace the destructive behaviors with positive ones. This is how pain turned into an opportunity that would serve me for the rest of my life.
My journey for change began in 1994. Today in 2021 I have a strong immune system, healthy structure that is pain free and muscles. Muscles that keep me strong and able to handle things without fear of injury.
What I have learned is it all starts with what you put into your body, meaning whole foods. By adding tools such as Postural Therapy and exercise, which creates physical balance, you can begin moving with more efficiency and no more joint pain. This allowed me to begin a lifetime of exercise and movement that has far surpassed any pill I could take or any food that I thought I couldn't resist. I can resist a lot; illness, weakness, depression, mental and physical cravings and low self esteem. Nothing I ate ever came close to feeling this good about myself.

When I share what I do for a living, you may think I am watching to see whether or not you are standing up straight. Yes, we look at this, however there is much more to the picture than just standing straight.
If you look at the picture, you can see this lady has more to work on than standing up straight.
When I look at a client, I look at how you move, how the joints are working and whether or not joints and muscles are functioning according to how our anatomy should work. Telling yourself, "oh, this is normal for me" doesn't justify that something is out of alignment. The cool thing about this change; can happen when you stimulate the muscles to function properly.
In the picture, you can see the lady has an elevated hip on one side and an elevated shoulder on the opposite side. This can change with the right stretches and exercises to strengthen, lengthen and wake up the muscles that aren't functioning properly.
In this lady's case, you can bet she is dealing with low back pain, hip pain on one side, knee pain and shoulder and neck pain. This will change with a postural program designed for her body.
