Come find me this Saturday at the Las Vegas menopause event!

10/06/2026

It’s hard to find the words, sometimes.

It’s waking up in a body that suddenly feels different than the one you’ve always known.

It’s looking at a checklist you used to breeze through and wondering why everything feels harder now.

It’s hearing people describe you with words that don’t feel like you. Words like moody, reactive, irritable.

It’s your family joking, “Mom’s going to blow a gasket,” and wondering when that became the version of you they expect.

It’s arguments over things that never used to matter. It’s a lack of patience, energy, and space between what you feel and how you react.

Not feeling like yourself is rarely one symptom you can point to. It’s the accumulation of a hundred small changes that slowly make your own life feel unfamiliar. And you deserve to understand why.

Absolutely.

Perimenopause begins years before menopause, while your periods are still regular, or mostly regular.

During this transition, estrogen and progesterone levels can fluctuate dramatically from month to month, or even day to day. You may still ovulate and have periods, but you might also notice symptoms such as:
• Changes in sleep
• Brain fog
• Mood changes or anxiety
• Weight changes
• Hot flashes or night sweats
• Low libido
• Fatigue
• Changes in the length, timing, or flow of your cycle

This is also why perimenopause is so easy to miss. Hormone levels change throughout the cycle, so a traditional lab result may not detect any problems. Your symptoms, changes in your cycle, health history, and how you feel are often more important than a single blood test.
Don’t wait until your periods stop to ask questions about your hormones.

Your body doesn’t operate in separate departments.
Hormones affect sleep, sleep affects metabolism, metabolism affects sleep. Everything is connected.
Traditional medicine separates the body into specialties, which isn’t always a bad thing, but sometimes the better approach is to look at the entire body as a singular system, because when the body works synergistically, our approach to health should too.

If you want to learn more about women’s health—especially perimenopause and menopause—this event is for you. Join us to explore a range of approaches from several practitioners, including holistic and non-prescription options. I’ll be part of a brief panel, sharing strategies for talking with your primary care doctor and handling objections about HRT. Most importantly, you’ll connect with a community of women navigating this incredible transition together. I look forward to seeing you on Saturday, October 17th.

1. Ask yourself:
How are these symptoms impacting my daily life, and what specific changes do I hope hormone therapy will bring?

Label the symptoms that feel most disruptive, for example: sleep, energy, mood, libido, cognition, body composition, hot flashes, vaginal symptoms, motivation, etc.

Think about what you want hormone therapy to improve: sleeping through the night, reducing hot flashes, feeling more sexually comfortable, boosting energy, preserving bone health, etc.

2. Ask your provider:
What should I expect during the first 90 days of treatment, and how will we determine whether to adjust, continue, or stop hormone therapy?

Remember, the medication is just one part of the treatment plan. The ongoing feedback and communication are equally, if not more, important. Ask your provider which symptoms they will track, when follow-up appointments will be scheduled, which lab tests are necessary, which side effects require immediate contact, and how you can reach them between visits.

3. Ask ChatGpt:
These are my symptoms, medical history, medications, and goals. Can you help me prepare the most important questions to discuss with my hormone provider?

Instead of asking, “Tell me what hormones I need,” use AI to clarify uncertainties, learn key terms, and discover important questions you might not have thought to ask.

Send this to someone thinking about HRT.

I chose to start Halcyon because I was tired of hearing stories similar to my own. I was tired of women getting dismissed and being told there was no help available. Halcyon was built to be the place I wish I had. A space where women are listened to, where their symptoms are taken seriously, and they have someone willing to keep looking for answers. Because feeling like yourself again shouldn’t start with convincing someone that something is wrong.
