Grateful for the opportunity to learn from renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Karol Gutowski during his visit to UNLV’s residency program.

His lecture series on lipedema treatment, aesthetic approaches, awake surgery, and business strategies in plastic surgery offered both practical insights and valuable perspective!

Thank you for your time, mentorship, and willingness to share your expertise with us! We truly appreciate it.

Our residents recently spent the day in the cadaver lab refining their breast reconstruction techniques, guided by Dr. Howard Langstein, MD, FACS - former Chief of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

An incredible opportunity to learn from an expert in the field and to continue advancing our surgical training! 💪🖋️👨‍🏫

This past weekend our department hosted its second annual "Sauce Off" 🍝 competition! Our residents, attendings, anesthesia colleagues, and OR staff competed to see who could make the best tasting pasta sauce👩‍🍳👨‍🍳. We sampled some amazing homemade bolognese, vodka, pesto, bechamel, and marinara sauces and more 🥫🍴🧄. Cheers to all the great chefs in our department and thanks to Dr. Menezes for hosting the event! 🙏🏼

It was an honor to have Dr. Jong-Woo Choi, MD, PhD, MMM join us in Las Vegas as the William Zamboni Visiting Professor! We had an incredible time learning about complex microsurgery, head & neck recon, craniofacial surgery, orthognathic surgery, facial aesthetics, simulation technology, and advances in cancer treatment. Thank you so much for your time!

Dr. Choi is a renowned microsurgeon and craniomaxillofacial surgeon, currently serving as Professor and Chair of the Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Asan Medical Center in Seoul, South Korea. He is also the current President of the Society of Korean Computer Simulation Surgery and President-Elect of the Korean Society of Head & Neck Oncology. Dr. Choi earned his MD degree from Yonsei University in 1996 and completed his residency in plastic & reconstructive surgery at Severance Hospital, Yonsei University College of Medicine. He subsequently earned a Ph.D. from the University of Ulsan College of Medicine and a Master of Medical Management at the University of Southern California.

It was also a special honor to host Dr. Choi here in Nevada - home to the late Dr. William A. Zamboni, who the visiting professor program is named after, and our founder of the University of Nevada's Division of Plastic Surgery.
