BEING A GENTLEMAN INSIDE AND OUT
Grown-Man Style. Let’s talk.
Gentlemen, some things just need to be said.
1. FIT MATTERS.
The label means nothing if the fit is wrong.
Your jacket should fit at the shoulders. Sleeves should hit where they’re supposed to. Pants should fit and break properly. And yes, the tie should reach the belt.
Too big? Sloppy.
Too tight? You don’t look smaller. You just look uncomfortable.
Buy for the body you have. And find a good tailor. Small tweaks. Big difference.
2. ATHLETIC WEAR IS FOR…ATHLETICS.
The gym? Absolutely.
Running errands? Sure.
But athletic wear does not have to follow you everywhere.
There’s a whole lot of room between wearing a suit and looking like you might drop and give us 20.
Sometimes, gentlemen, just put on some clothes.
3. SNEAKERS ARE NOT THE UNIVERSAL SHOE.
We love a great sneaker. But every outfit—and every occasion—doesn’t call for one.
Sometimes it’s a loafer.
Sometimes it’s a boot.
Sometimes it’s an actual dress shoe.
And before we hear, “But sneakers are comfortable…”
So are slippers. We’re not wearing those to dinner either.
Style isn’t about dressing younger. It isn’t about dressing older.
It’s about knowing what looks good on you, knowing where you’re going—and looking like you gave it some thought.
Know your fit.
Know the occasion.
And know when the sneakers need to stay home.
How you show up matters.
