As we prepare for upcoming elections, we want to make sure individuals with disabilities and their families have access to clear, accessible information about voting.

Hoosiers Vote, a resource from Indiana Disability Rights, is a great place to learn about:
✅ Your rights as a voter with a disability
✅ Accessibility and assistance at the polls
✅ How to register or check your voter registration
✅ Accessible voting options
✅ What to expect when you vote

We also encourage individuals with disabilities to take advantage of community voter registration events as an opportunity to register, update their information, and ask questions about the voting process.

Being informed about your rights is an important part of being prepared to participate in our community.

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month!

Each month, we're highlighting different awareness months, celebrating the communities they represent, and sharing valuable resources to help educate, connect, and support one another!

This month, we're excited to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month! 💙

October is a time to celebrate individuals with Down syndrome, promote awareness and acceptance, and recognize the importance of inclusion and belonging in our communities.
Throughout the month, we encourage you to learn something new, explore available resources, and help spread awareness!

💛 Together, we can build a more inclusive community where everyone is valued, supported, and celebrated!

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month! 🌟💙

This month, we’re celebrating our community. Cheers to the self-advocates, families, friends, educators, volunteers, supporters, and everyone who helps make our community stronger.

Down syndrome awareness is about more than learning facts. It’s about getting to know one another, celebrating what makes each person unique, creating opportunities to belong, and making sure everyone has a place at the table.

We’re proud to celebrate the incredible people who make up our village!

Did you know Fort Harrison State Park offers motorized track chairs, giving guests with mobility disabilities a new way to explore Indiana’s beauty?

These chairs are free to use and designated for specific areas identified by each property. Several parks also have powered mobility chairs.

To use a chair, the user will need to read and sign a Track Chair Agreement and receive a brief training orientation from park staff. Users 16 years or younger must be accompanied by an adult.

To learn about the track chairs and other DNR accessibility, see on.IN.gov/dnr-accessibility.
