We are approaching the middle of October and all the spooky things are making their way into the storefronts, front yards, and grocery aislesâŚ
Itâs easier than ever to end up with lots of chocolate and sugar on your plate this time of year. Donât worry, we wonât suggest getting rid of your family traditions all togetherâeven simple changes can help your body deal with this influx in sweets.
đť You donât have to eat it all at once
Save some candy in your freezer for a rainy day and reduce the number of candies you choose to eat each day to something that leaves room for 3 full (preferably whole food meals). Try out something like trading a fun outing for a certain amount of candy for your kids! There are lots of great ways to spread out the fun!
đť âSaving upâ calories for sweets
While reducing your food intake throughout the day can result in an overall lower caloric intake throughout the day, it can do a number on your blood sugar. Haywire blood sugar can make you crave and take in more sweets, make you feel awful, and make the next few days uncomfortable.
đť Staying up late
We get it! Itâs so much fun to stay up late watching movies and spending time with friends! Just make sure youâre spending time resting as wellâyour body, mind, and blood sugar will thank you!
đť Eating only carbs!!!
Make sure to get some protein in there! Ideally, 30g per meal! Not only will this help give you sustainable energy for your late night adventures, it will help keep your emotions, cravings, and sleep optimal!
