Wow, what a week! I haven't been able to take a breath, and my body is feeling it. I am thankful to all my clients, and also now thankful for my floor π
Have a blessed weekend!
Go on a journey with me...
This story begins in Sept (top left), where a client had a badly involuted nail, which I trimmed and cleaned as well as I could. We discussed options to correct her curvature.
Skip ahead to today (Nov), where she has been wearing 1.5 bands to alleviate some pain and begin to correct the curve for the past month. She claimed to have zero discomfort, even with the new growth! (This is quite different from her previous visits.)
I took some pics before and after the nail cleaning of the C curve (I had forgotten to do that the last visit π«£) - bottom left and center pics.
Finally, the bottom right picture shows the nail after her cleaning (before polish) today. It might be too early to tell if her nail shape is changing, but by next visit we will be able to see for sure. AND if she continues to be pain-free them that is a WIN!
I adopted the nail "The Nail Therapist" for a reason - I LOVE to help rehabilitate people's nails so they feel great AND look great.

All through the holiday season, I will have a refreshing and detoxifying Jingle Juice for my guests!
[Blended and strained fresh cranberry, lime juice, raw honey, and water.]
Mmmmmmmmm!
Soaking in some rays before Turkey dinner yesterday and doing some grounding had me feeling very thankful for the mild weather and soothing warmth of the sun.

I hope you all had an amazing day yesterday! What was your favorite food you ate? Mine is ALWAYS stuffing!
Confession: I am fully in love with π
I cannot EVER get through a manicure (with regular polish) without a nick, smudge, or imprint of some sort.
Today, I painted my nails, and they were dry in 5 minutes. COMPLETELY DRY.

What color do you love during fall? I wasn't brave enough to do the deep red on my hands this time, but it looks great on my toes!
1 month of growth, and the pincer nail is already showing improvement!!
This is a very easy application and can help alleviate pain and discomfort as the new nail grows in. The inflexible band will hold the shape of the nail at its widest point, which will lead to the pinched shape flattening as the band reaches the free edge.
More detailed information will be in my newest YouTube video coming out later this week!

Have a fantastic weekend, friends!
Chronic fungus is always difficult to overcome. It can misshapen the nail bed and thicken the nails. The key is to try to remove as much affected nail plate as possible and be consistent with treatment.
This client is using a topical prescription daily and seeing me every 4 weeks.
At first glance, you may not see much change here, but I can see a widening nail bed and a flattening of the central hump that had developed since picking up the fungus. Her nails are attaching higher to the nail bed as well (they were nearly completely detached on her initial visit), and the nails are clearing (other 4 nails not shown).
I get excited to see her and each of my clients every visit so we can track progress and adjust as needed in our care plan. π
BACK IN STOCK!
RENEW Healing Balm gets its golden hue from the vitamin C-packed sea buckthorn bery oil. The high vitamin C acts like an antioxidant and speeds healing to cracked, chapped, or excessively dry skin. The cupuacu butter increases the skin's moisture levels, shea soothes, and kokum butter softens. With the gentle rose and ylang ylang scent, I think you will love everything about this!
Safe on the lips and face, too!

This week, while on vacation, I've surpassed 500 subscribers on YouTube! My latest video has over 12,000 views already! πππ
Thanks to all my subbies! I hope I bring something new and helpful to your life!
By the way, I finally took the plunge and bought a small variety of colors by Dazzle Dry! So that's coming to the studio upon my return.
My family and I will be cruising the Caribbean this upcoming week and will be back in the studio on November 14th!
See you soon!
From last month to today, WOW! Her C curve is relaxed, her fungus is halted, and new nail growth looks super healthy! Her nail bed is healing and ready to reattach when the new nail grows in.
She uses RECOVER nail treatment oil twice daily. That's it!
By summer, her nails will be attached and ready for polish!
Chronic fungal infections take time and patience to cure, as well as a multi-pronged attack.
Each visit, I've been able to debulk and debride the affected nail plate, reducing the amount of pathogenic material left on or in the nail. It's now up to her to be consistent with her antifungal drops, foot baths, and diet. We even discussed a cuz you KNOW we ALL have those little buggers and they impact what nutrients our body can absorb!
I'm looking forward to another update with her in 2 months!
Happy Halloween!
Is there anything better than a thorough pedicure? Fresh skin soaking in moisture, old cuticle removed, and thick nails thinned...aaahhhh. It feels good!
I'd love to apply the polygel brace to her big toenails next visit to reduce that C curve. For more info on that application process, visit my website under the heading SERVICES -> Curve Corection.
I am so blessed. π₯° I love my work.
That's all. That's the post.

Had a great time with this new client yesterday. I love hearing the life stories of my guests - always so interesting!!
Her nails were healthy other than a couple pinched, thick nails. Do you know why the second toe is often the thickest? Let me know in the comments!

She's a young girl who has been dealing with this infection plus a mild case of Athlete's Foot for a while. I gave her my last bottle of my newest product, REMEDY, to trial at home. It won't be enough for 7 weeks, but it will get her started, and I hope we will see some changes by the next appointment.
To be continued....

Top pic was about 18 months ago.
Bottom pic was yesterday, October 10, 2023.
If youre on this journey, stick with it! The ends completely justify the means.
More work is to be done in completely clearing his fungus and then helping it grow in fully attached. But this is tremendous progress!
His Athlete's Foot is 90% cleared after 5 weeks of using my new product, REMEDY (coming to my online store soon), and his nail fungus looked better this visit than it had ever looked before!

Fall is officially here at Revive Nail Studio!
I've spent the past week putting this newsletter together on a brief, but impactful summary of your nails during and after chemotherapy.
If you're a professional nail technician, or just a curious person, here's a link to get the pdf I happily share with you!
Chemotherapy can wreak havoc on your nails. Click below for a comprehensive guide to learn what kind of damage it can cause, how to prevent damage, and what you can do to recover.
A first visit for a new client can be scary. They don't know me. They don't really know what I know or what I can do to help. But by having a few minutes to discuss their history and expectations, I'm able to provide them with some information they likely haven't heard before, as well as a realistic solution to their problems.
This lovely lady will be seeing me once a month and is being a guinea pig for my antifungal nail and foot drops. I advised her it was best to reduce the nail as much as possible in order to clean off as many dermatophytes as possible and treat the nail most effectively.
Her great toenail is badly involuted, so we will work on that eventually as well. I think we will see complete resolution within 6-9 months. How awesome will that day be?!!

Even licensed nail techs call them "chop shops!"
Guys, I can't stress this enough - you get what you pay for!
I use single-use items or fully disinfected and sterilized implements ONLY.
I use separate tools on your feet and hands, never both.
I take time to fully disinfect the entire area after each client.
Little strip mall nail shops are more about volume of clients than quality of service.
Please choose wisely.
Finished up the week with a delightful woman, her adorable 2 month old son, and this fabulous deep teal,
Can I just say this again - I LOVE my career. I never saw myself doing what I do when I was younger, but thank God I was thrown into this profession!!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Spend it with people you love, doing something you love. β€οΈ
Do you dry your feet with a towel after bathing?
Here's why you should:
1) Prevent fungal and bacterial infections: Moisture provides an ideal environment for the growth of fungi and bacteria, including the ones responsible for issues like Athlete's Foot. By drying the feet thoroughly, this reduces the ability for those infections to take root or spread.
**If you already have Athlete's Foot, or suspect that you do, use a new towel to dry each time you shower. I recommend a separate wash cloth so that laundry isn't such a chore by the end of the week!**
2) Minimizes odor: Damp and sweaty feet can lead to unpleasant foot odor. Properly drying your feet helps remove the moisture that can contribute to odor causing bacteria proliferation.
3) Reduces skin issues: Prolonged moisture can lead to skin maceration (softening and breaking down of skin), especially between the toes. This can make your feet more susceptible to infection and pain.
4) Removal of excess skin: Actively drying your feet helps exfoliate away excess, dry skin build-up, revealing fresh, healthy underlying skin. Follow this step with a foot cream or balm to maintain the integrity of the skin.
Was this helpful? If so, please share!
Progress is not always obvious, so that's one reason I love taking pics when you arrive and when you leave. It's important for you to see how much change has occurred and how much YOUR commitment to recovery is the most important part of your journey.
A great toenail takes approximately 12 months to grow completely. If your nail matrix has fungal involvement, then it will take longer.
Patience and consistency are key!
French pedis are making a comeback here in !!
Not gonna lie, I have to dust off my freehand tip painting, but once I got the rhythm it was all good. π
Progress update for my tough fungal nail client!
He wore the Curve Correct for 4 weeks and it popped off during the pedicure today. But as I hope you can tell, it's already made a big difference in flattening the curve.
He had a deep, tight curve on the left-hand side, which made it extremely difficult to clean down the sides and under the nail. As a result, he had a small fragment (called a spicule) which had been causing him some pain. The Curve Correct helped to lift his nail just enough so that I could fully clean out his nail borders and trim the nail correctly!
We will see how well his nail grows in to determine whether another round of bracing is necessary.
And his fungus is nearly fully resolved on both his big toenails!! Now to address the Athlete's Foot....
