What could a few hours of your time mean to someone else?

For a patient without adequate health coverage, it could mean finally seeing a medical provider. Getting relief from a painful dental problem. Talking with someone about their mental health. Or simply hearing, “Yes. We can help.”

Snake River Community Clinic is able to care for uninsured and underinsured members of our community because healthcare professionals choose to share something incredibly valuable: their time and expertise.

If you’re a medical, dental or behavioral health professional looking for a meaningful way to give back locally, we’d love to talk with you about volunteering at SRCC.

You don’t have to change your entire schedule to make a difference. A few hours can become someone else’s opportunity to receive care. Interested? Visit srccfreeclinic.org to learn more or get in touch with the clinic.

Your mouth isn’t separate from the rest of your body.

Oral health is part of overall health, yet dental care can be one of the first things people postpone when they don’t have coverage or can’t afford the cost.

A dental problem can affect eating, sleeping, working and simply getting through the day. And putting off care can allow a manageable problem to become a much bigger one. That’s why access to dental care matters.

Snake River Community Clinic helps eligible uninsured and underinsured patients access dental services as part of our commitment to caring for the whole person.

If you’ve been putting off dental care because of cost or lack of coverage, talk to us. You deserve more than having to “just live with it.” Learn more about SRCC services at srccfreeclinic.org.

The appointment may be over. The care isn’t. Sometimes getting answers is only the first step.

A patient may need lab work. A prescription they can actually afford. Help navigating medication assistance. Follow-up care. A referral. Dental or vision services. Or simply someone to help figure out what comes next.

That’s part of the work happening every day at Snake River Community Clinic.

For uninsured and underinsured patients, navigating the healthcare system can be overwhelming, especially when cost is part of every decision. SRCC helps patients move from “Here’s what you need” toward “Here’s how we can help you access it.”

Because good care doesn’t end when the appointment does. Need care but aren’t sure where to start? Start with SRCC. Learn more at srccfreeclinic.org.

You probably know your phone number. Maybe your license plate. Possibly even your Wi-Fi password. But do you know your health numbers?

Blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol can offer important clues about what’s happening inside your body, often before you notice symptoms.

Knowing your numbers gives you and your healthcare provider a starting point for conversations about your health and helps you see how those numbers change over time.

And you don’t need to become an expert in what every number means. That’s what healthcare providers are for.

A good healthy habit for October: If it’s been a while since you’ve had basic health screenings or established care with a provider, make that your next step.

WHAT HAPPENS IF…I have health insurance, but I still can’t afford health care?

You’re not the only one. Having insurance doesn’t necessarily mean every kind of care is affordable. A high deductible, uncovered service, expensive prescription or unexpected medical need can still leave you wondering: Now what?

That’s one reason Snake River Community Clinic serves both uninsured AND underinsured patients.

If cost is keeping you from getting the care you need, don’t assume having insurance means you can’t ask SRCC for help. Start with a conversation. We can help you understand what services may be available and where to turn next. Visit srccfreeclinic.org to learn more.

No insurance? You may already know Snake River Community Clinic is here for you.

But what if you have insurance and still can’t afford the care you need? You may be underinsured. High deductibles, services your plan doesn’t cover, prescription costs and other out-of-pocket expenses can leave people with an insurance card in their wallet but health care still financially out of reach.

SRCC serves eligible uninsured and underinsured patients in our region, with services available through our Lewiston and Moscow locations. And if you’re not sure whether you qualify? Ask us.

We’d much rather help you understand your options than have you go without needed care because you assumed help wasn’t available. Learn more at srccfreeclinic.org.

Mental health care is health care. But finding help isn’t always easy.

Cost, lack of insurance, provider shortages and long waits can leave people trying to manage anxiety, depression and other mental health concerns on their own, sometimes while they’re already navigating financial or personal challenges.

Snake River Community Clinic provides behavioral health services that can help bridge that gap for uninsured and underinsured patients in our community.

Sometimes the first step isn’t having everything figured out. It’s simply having somewhere to start.

On World Mental Health Day, we want our community to know that asking for help with your mental health is every bit as important as asking for help with your physical health.

If you’re struggling to access care because of cost or insurance, talk to SRCC about the services available to you. Learn more at srccfreeclinic.org.

Good vision is about so much more than seeing clearly.

It can mean being able to read a medication label. Drive safely. Do your job. Read to your grandkids. Recognize a face across the room.

n World Sight Day, we’re reminded that clear vision is an important part of overall health, yet the cost of an eye exam or a pair of glasses can put that care out of reach for people who are uninsured or underinsured.

Through the Changing Life Through Lenses® program, Snake River Community Clinic is able to help provide free glasses to underserved patients who need them.

We are incredibly grateful to Essilor Vision Foundation for its commitment to eliminating uncorrected poor vision and helping make clear sight more accessible to people in communities like ours.

Because something as basic as being able to see clearly can make a very big difference in someone’s life.

You don’t have to wait until something is wrong to take care of your health.

Preventive care can help catch health concerns earlier, keep an eye on changes over time, and give you a chance to talk with a healthcare provider about the questions you’ve been putting off.

At Snake River Community Clinic, we believe everyone deserves access to care, including people who are uninsured or underinsured.

Whether it’s time to establish care, check in on an ongoing health concern, or simply start paying a little more attention to your health, you don’t have to wait for a crisis.

Taking care of your health can start with one appointment. Learn more about services available through SRCC at srccfreeclinic.org.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it’s a good reminder to pay attention to your breast health.

Get familiar with how your breasts normally look and feel. If you notice a new lump, swelling, changes in the skin or ni**le, unusual discharge, or anything else that’s different for you, don’t ignore it. Talk with a healthcare provider.

And don’t let lack of insurance keep you from asking about breast cancer screening.

Some Idaho women may qualify for Women’s Health Check, a program that provides FREE breast and cervical cancer screenings to eligible women, including screening mammograms and, when appropriate, diagnostic testing.

Snake River Community Clinic can help eligible patients learn more about available screening resources and what steps to take next.

Early detection matters. So does having access to screening.

If you’re due for a mammogram, have noticed a change, or simply aren’t sure what screening is appropriate for you, start the conversation.
