Is MOM’s Organic Market better than Whole Foods? Here's what I thought after checking out the new Mount Prospect location today! 🍎

Some Crunchy Crew friends were excited for MOM's Organic Market to open, so Crunchkin and did a quick visit today.

While I love getting as much as possible from local farms and farmers markets, a weekly grocery trip is still unavoidable for us.

MOM's is significantly smaller than its much larger corporate competitor, but there were many highlights:

🫶 Independently owned, mission-driven

🍠 All organic produce, purple sweet potatoes galore!

🧘‍♀️ They sold Jade natural yoga mats (which I own and love!)

🍫 Best dark chocolate options of any grocery store; they had a spot for my all-time favorite (Taza Wicked Dark) but it was sold out!

☕️ Loose leaf tea and cold brew (black cold brew in glass is my go-to for on-the-go).

🫙 Fermented veggie varieties were on point!

🐑 They had our sheep yogurt!

🧼 Toothpaste and soap staples covered.

Is there anything better than connecting over food, business, and life with incredible people? Endless inspiration at our October Foodies & Founders gathering at Pixca last night.

I might need to start reviewing bunless burgers at local farm-to-table spots, because it’s what I order 95% of the time.

A beautiful day for a trail half! 🍂🌲👟

The Des Plaines River Trail Races experience was awesome. Hands down one of the best pre-race setups and most stunning courses in the area. They offer everything from a half marathon to a 50K and 50-miler, and seeing the ultra runners out there was so inspiring!

The one thing I’d tweak? The post-race snacks. I'm thankful I had an Olympia Granola bar from last weekend, which saved the day.

I always get a little FOMO on Chicago Marathon weekend (another favorite of mine), but that season will come around again... and who knows, maybe an ultra is in my future!
