The weather held out for us today, and our ANCHOR Family Photo Fundraiser was a wonderful success! 📸🍂⚓️

It was a heartfelt privilege last week to show the two amazing Pioneer parents, Joan Crane & Barbara Schafeman, who brought the idea of Camp Anchor to the Town of Hempstead "ANCHORED HEARTS". The film by Rich Miceli, produced by Martin Brull and brought to you by THE ANCHOR PROGRAM FUND. This film is the story of Camp Anchor—our journey, our history, and how we became one of the country’s most sought-after special needs programs.

Barbara and Joan were unable to attend the movie premiere this past August at the Madison Theater at Molloy College, but sharing this special moment with them recently, alongside a few Anchor Board Members, MaryAnn Hanson, Mary Brull & Rich Miceli moved them to tears. They were deeply grateful and honored to see the story of their remarkable journey and the lasting impact they helped create.

Thank you, Barbara and Joan, for everything you’ve done to bring Camp Anchor to life and for your unwavering dedication to this community. Your legacy anchors us all. ❤️
