We utilize equine as our prescription for healing.

STAT’s Horsepower therapy empowers life-changing outcomes through experiential learning, psychotherapy, physical therapy, speech language pathology, personal growth and development classes, and riding lessons.

We serve veterans/military and first responders at no cost through donor funded programming. We are trauma informed and work with many vulnerable populations. STAT is located at 24 Stom Road (Ligonier Therapeutic Center). We have a staff of 14 professionals trained and certified in multiple equine assisted interventions, including EAGALA, OK CORRAL SERIES, HIPPOTHERAPY, EMDR (Equilateral), and PATH. We are members of the GPNP, PATH Int’l, and lifetime members of the PA EQUINE COUNCIL. We have 2 Veterans on our staff and 1 Veteran on our board of directors and several Veterans who are dedicated volunteers who work in many roles here at STAT! The Ligonier Therapeutic Center is home to a newly trademarked equine assisted learning protocol called the EQuine Affect, a 24 hour course split into several weeks where clients explore their Emotional Intelligence through a personal journey of self awareness, mindset, personal and professional growth and development. We also believe it’s very important to provide respite and peace for parents and caregivers. While your loved one participates in this beneficial treatment strategies offered - you’ll find yourself among other caregivers in a serene, inviting atmosphere. Sit in the sunshine, take a walk, relax on the porch, enjoy a weekly slice of Heaven. Sessions and retreats are offered from time to time for Caregivers as well. STAT staff will also assist parents in finding and writing grants as an option to supplement out of pocket expenses. You will always be welcomed warmly by our team of volunteers and professional staff. Come relax, enjoy the horses, experience the healing power of horses, and rest in the view. STAT is continuously seeking and receiving grant funding. Many times we can supplement or completely cover your out of pocket costs with donor assistance. STAT® is looking for a
dependable,
hardworking individual to join our team, help care for our horses, and maintain our beautiful farm and facilities.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and have UTD clearances.

🐴 BARN & HORSE CARE

Starting Hourly Pay: $14–$16/hour, depending on experience. You will have 3 hours M-Sat mornings for chores. We have 5 minus, 7 horses and 2 brand new young mustangs and will potentially have 2 boarders over the winter.

Personal Qualities & Requirements:

* Good communication skills
* A positive attitude
* Team player who works well with staff and volunteers
* Reliable, responsible
* Motivated & Comfortable working independently
* Takes direction well
* Genuine compassion for animals and attention to their well-being

Required clearances: FBI Criminal History, PA State Police Criminal History, and PA Child Abuse History

Responsibilities:

* Feeding, watering, turnout, and daily horse care and oversight
* Cleaning stalls, paddocks, pastures, and barn areas
* General farm maintenance, including mowing, brush hogging, raking, sweeping, and property upkeep
* Monitoring horses’ health, behavior, safety, and overall well-being
* Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment for horses, staff, volunteers, and visitors

🔨 CONSTRUCTION & BUILDING WORK

Pay: $20/hour for qualified individuals

If you have construction, carpentry, or handyman experience? That’s a BIG PLUS!

We have plenty of projects and improvements around the property, including:

* Fence installation, maintenance, and repairs
* Small building and construction projects, including painting
* General property improvements
* Carpentry, repairs, and facility maintenance

💰 PAY & ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

* Barn & Horse Care: $14–$16/hour to start, with opportunities for increases based on performance, reliability, and experience
* Construction & Building Work: $20/hour for qualified individuals
* Adaptive Riding Program: Earn an additional $10 per 30-minute session assisting with adaptive riding activities (equivalent to $20/hour)
* Additional hours and projects may be available for individuals with multiple skills

Most autism families have never heard of this.

The Access Pass is a free lifetime pass to every US national park, plus national forests, wildlife refuges and other federal sites. It’s for any US citizen or resident with a permanent disability that limits a major life activity. Any age.

Many autistic children and adults qualify. You need:

🪪 A photo ID
📄 A signed doctor’s letter saying the disability is permanent and describing how it limits daily life, or a benefits letter from Social Security, the VA or state vocational rehab

Get it in person at more than 1,000 federal sites (free), online through the USGS store (processing fee, about three weeks), or as a digital pass on recreation.gov.

Autism isn’t an automatic yes. Ask your child’s doctor for a letter that describes limitations, not just a diagnosis.
