✨ SONDER ✨

A word for the realization that every person around us is living a life just as vivid, complicated, and meaningful as our own — that every stranger is the main character of their own story, even if we only ever see a tiny piece of it.

“Sonder” was coined by writer John Koenig in 2012 for The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, his project dedicated to giving names to those strange, difficult-to-describe feelings of being human.

For this piece, we brought that beautiful word to life in a custom cursive typeface, flowing naturally along the ribs. I absolutely love how the lettering follows the shape of the body while still feeling delicate, intentional, and timeless.

There’s something especially beautiful about a single word carrying so much meaning.

🐺🖤 I’m SO excited to share this piece!
A wolf print carved into stone, paired with a custom bind rune incorporating Wunjo, Othala, Fehu, and Algiz to represent the English name “wolf.” I loved getting to bring together the rugged texture of stone with the symbolism and history of runic tradition.

Pieces like this are one of the reasons I love creating tattoos rooted in Paganism, symbolism, and personal meaning. There’s something incredibly special about taking ancient-inspired elements and turning them into something personal that someone can carry with them.

I had so much fun with this one, and I’m absolutely in love with how it came together. As an eclectic pagan, I really loved making this.🐺✨

🕯️🍂I love a good ambigram. This one is the phrase “As Above, So Below,” a little reminder of the connection between the worlds above and below, the seen and unseen, and the magic that exists between them. ✨🌙
A perfect little piece of my Autumn Arcana flash magic. 🍂🕯️
