This National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we’re saying thank you to the employers in our communities who recognize potential, provide opportunities, and help create workplaces where everyone has a chance to contribute.

Together, we can build communities where everyone has the opportunity to work, belong, and thrive.

When people have the opportunity to work, everyone benefits.

This National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we’re celebrating the many people supported by Apace who are working, contributing, and making a difference every day.

People with disabilities bring valuable skills, perspectives, dedication, and talents to the workplace. When employers create opportunities for people with disabilities, they are not only providing meaningful employment; they are building stronger, more inclusive workplaces and communities.

When people have the opportunity to work, everyone benefits.

💙 Empowerment – Providing tools, resources, and support needed for individuals with IDD to achieve their goals.

Gina Tran - Lincoln
Gina believes that all of the individuals on her team should be as independent as possible. To make this possible, she gives her team all of the tools they need to complete tasks. This could be as simple as showing them how to do something or going out of her way to make things accessible for her team. Gina works closely with a person who loves to be outside and be part of the team. One of their favorite things is flying kites, but is unable to hold the handle. Gina came up with the idea of tying the kite onto a fishing pole so that they can hold that and fly the kite. Every time they go to fly kites, there are smiles all around!
