Next up for National Physical Therapy Month, we’re introducing you to the people behind Made New Physical Therapy and highlighting some of the conditions we treat and specialties we offer!

Alisha Greene, DPT, COMT, FAAOMPT: It has always been Alisha’s dream to open her own private practice, and she’s excited to serve Lititz and the surrounding communities through Made New. Since graduating from Lebanon Valley College in 2015, Alisha has built extensive experience in outpatient orthopedics and advanced manual therapy.

🙌 Specialty Spotlight: Manual Therapy & Hands-On Techniques

Many of our physical therapists have earned their COMT (Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist) certification, reflecting our team’s commitment to advanced training and specialized, hands-on care.

In addition to her COMT certification, Alisha became a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT) in 2022. This advanced fellowship reflects her dedication to continued education and excellence in orthopedic manual physical therapy.

Hands-on treatment is an important part of the individualized care we provide. Depending on each patient’s needs and goals, our physical therapists may incorporate techniques such as joint mobilization, hands-on stretching, and massage to help improve mobility, reduce stiffness, and promote more comfortable movement.

We also use specialized soft tissue techniques as part of individualized treatment plans, including:

🟣 Cupping: Uses suction from specialized cups placed on the skin to create a lifting effect on the underlying tissues. It may help with pain relief and mobility for some patients.

💪 Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM): Sometimes called “scraping,” this technique uses specialized tools to apply pressure to soft tissues. It may help address tissue sensitivity and improve comfortable movement as part of a broader rehabilitation program.

These hands-on approaches can be combined with therapeutic exercise and movement training to help patients move more comfortably, build strength, and return to the activities they enjoy.

Alisha also has extensive experience working with athletes of all kinds, including runners, gymnasts, powerlifters, swimmers, and various other high level athletes.

Whether you’re managing pain, recovering from an injury, or working toward your next athletic goal, our team is here to help you move better and get back to doing what you love!

Gymnastics and dance place unique demands on the body, requiring a combination of strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and control. Our team understands these demands firsthand!

Both Alisha and Riley grew up competing in high-level gymnastics. Riley trained at Gymnastics Center of Hershey, while Alisha competed with Millers Gym Stars in Pittsburgh.
