Repost from Michigan for Vaccine Choice 2.0
GSK just settled a historic false advertising lawsuit over its Tdap “Big Bad Cough” campaign.

In 2015, GSK ran ads portraying unvaccinated grandparents as “big bad wolves” who would infect their grandkids with whooping cough unless they got the shot. The lawsuit (backed by ICAN and Aaron Siri’s team) alleged the core premise was false: Tdap does not stop pertussis infection or transmission. Vaccinated people can still get infected, stay asymptomatic, and spread it—potentially making them more likely to pass it to vulnerable infants.

GSK pulled the ads soon after the 2021 filing. New York class members who got vaccinated because of the campaign just settled (up to $50 with proof).

First major false advertising win against a vaccine maker’s marketing claims. The Big Bad Wolf got cooked. Thanks Informed Consent Action Network

Twice a year the clocks change and twice a year most people underestimate how much it affects their biology.

Your circadian rhythm is a master timing system that governs when your cortisol peaks, when your melatonin releases, when your cells repair and when your metabolism runs. Every organ in your body runs on a schedule set almost entirely by light. When the clocks shift, even by one hour, that schedule gets disrupted. Most people feel it for three days to a full week.

Here is what actually helps:

Get outside within 30 minutes of waking. Morning sunlight is the most powerful signal you can send your circadian clock. Even on a cloudy day, outdoor light is 10 to 50 times stronger than indoor light.

Keep your meal times consistent. Your gut has its own internal clock and it syncs to when you eat. Eating at the same times every day helps your body recalibrate faster.

Dim your lights after sunset. Bright artificial light at night suppresses melatonin production. Candles, warm bulbs, anything that signals to your body that the day is winding down.

Avoid screens for at least an hour before bed. Blue light delays melatonin release by up to 90 minutes.

Consider magnesium glycinate before bed. It supports the nervous system, deepens sleep quality and helps your body transition into rest. I take it every night.

Your body wants to find its rhythm. Give it the right inputs and it will.

This goes for kids and adults 😉

Halloween is one of my favorite nights of the year. The costumes, the neighborhoods, the kids running around with pure joy — there is something really special about it.

But here is what I know after 30 years of medicine: sugar on an empty stomach hits completely differently than sugar after a real meal.

Eating protein, vegetables and healthy fat before the candy reduces blood sugar spikes by up to 37%. That means less of a crash, less of a meltdown, less of a sleepless night, and more enjoyment of the actual candy because your body is not in chaos trying to handle it.

So tonight, before you head out — scrambled eggs, a piece of salmon, some roasted veggies, whatever you have. Then go have the best Halloween.

You and your kids deserve both.

💀🎃 When AI knows you a little TOO well! 😂

So I decided to have a little Halloween fun with ChatGPT!

I uploaded a picture of a plain skeleton and asked it to “Dress up this skeleton based on everything you know about me.”

And THIS is what it came up with! 🤣💀

I’m not sure whether to be impressed or slightly concerned about how well it nailed me! 😂

The messy bun, leopard print, ripped jeans, comfy cardigan, crystals, supplements, coffee (okay, TEAFEE ☕️), my obsession with HRV, muscle testing, hormones, gut health, REAL food, my business, my clients, and of course my never-ending bag of EVERYTHING!

The ONE thing it got wrong? The sunglasses! 😎🚫

If you know me, you know I rarely wear sunglasses! Why? Because natural light entering our eyes plays an important role in regulating our circadian rhythm, hormone signaling, sleep-wake cycles, and so many other processes that help our bodies function the way they’re designed to! ☀️ Our bodies need those natural light cues, especially in the morning! (And no, that doesn’t mean staring directly at the sun! 😉)

It even remembered my love for square breathing, my sobriety journey, and how much I value my family and freedom. ❤️

Apparently, if I were a skeleton, I’d still be running Holistic Healing and Nutrition, carrying 47 things at once, sipping my teafee, and reminding everyone to take their supplements! 🤣

I guess some things really are in your bones! 🦴😂

Now I want to see YOURS!

Upload a skeleton picture to ChatGPT and ask it to dress it up based on everything it knows about you!

Drop yours in the comments! I need to see these! 👇💀

🎃🧡 Wishing everyone a FUN, SAFE, and HEALTHY Halloween! Enjoy the costumes, the laughter, the memories, and yes… even a little candy! Remember, a healthy lifestyle is about balance, not perfection!

Happy Halloween from Holistic Healing and Nutrition! 🧡💀👻

🚫 SITTING HERE STARING AT AN EMPTY WAITING ROOM

⛔️LET’S TALK ABOUT NO-SHOWS…

As a small business owner, one of the most frustrating things is having someone schedule an appointment and simply not show up.

I completely understand that life happens! Kids get sick, emergencies come up, schedules change, and sometimes things are simply forgotten. I get it! ❤️

But here’s what I wish more people understood…

When you book an appointment with me, that time is reserved specifically for YOU.

I prepare for your visit, review your information, and make sure I have the time set aside to give you my undivided attention.

When someone doesn’t show up or cancels at the very last minute, that appointment time usually cannot be filled.

And here’s the part that really bothers me…

I have people waiting to get appointments. People who would LOVE to have that time slot but weren’t given the opportunity because I didn’t know it would be available.

As a small business, a missed appointment also means lost income. Unlike a large corporation, there’s no one else absorbing that loss.

This is why I have a cancellation and no-show policy in place. It’s not about being harsh or unreasonable. It’s about respecting my time, my business, and the other clients waiting to be seen.

❤️ Please, if you cannot make your appointment, communicate with me at least 24 hours in advance and even more is appreciated. Or as soon as possible for emergency situations.

I will always do my best to be understanding because life happens to all of us.

I genuinely love what I do, and I value every person who trusts me to be part of their wellness journey.

All I ask is that you value my time the same way I value yours.

Thank you to the MANY clients who consistently show up, communicate, and respect my schedule. You are appreciated more than you know! ❤️

☀️ A Little Peek Into My Morning Routine! 🌿

Unpacking my bag, setting up my space, and getting ready for another day of doing what I love! 💚

There’s something about those quiet moments before the first client arrives. Getting everything organized, reviewing my schedule, preparing for appointments, and making sure I have everything I need for the day ahead.

What might look like simply unpacking a bag is actually the beginning of a day filled with listening, learning, educating, and helping people take steps toward better health.

Every client brings a different story, different challenges, and different goals. And that’s one of the things I love most about what I do. No two days, and no two clients, are ever the same!

Bag unpacked. Space ready. Let’s get to work! 🌿💚

🍏 APPLE CINNAMON PROTEIN OATS 🍎

31g of PROTEIN + 15g of FIBER in ONE delicious bowl! 💪

Who says comfort food can’t be good for you?!

This warm, cozy breakfast is packed with ingredients that do so much more than just fill your belly. It’s designed to nourish your body, support gut health, promote healthy cholesterol levels, and keep you feeling satisfied!

🥣 Here’s what’s in my bowl:

🍏 1 Granny Smith apple
🌾 ½ cup organic sprouted gluten-free oats
💪 24g Be Well by Kelly Vanilla Grass-Fed Protein
🌱 5g whole psyllium husk
🌱 1 tsp chia seeds
🤎 ½ tsp cinnamon
🧂 ¼ tsp pink Himalayan salt
💧 1 C filtered water (add more at the end to desired consistency)

THE NUTRITIONAL BREAKDOWN:

🔥 Calories: ~433
💪 Protein: ~31g
🌾 Carbohydrates: ~66g
🌱 Fiber: ~15.5g
🥑 Fat: ~6g
🍏 Net Carbs: ~51g
🚫 Added Sugar: 0g

WHY I LOVE THESE INGREDIENTS:

❤️ Cholesterol Support: Oats contain beta-glucan, while psyllium provides additional soluble fiber. Both can help support healthy LDL cholesterol levels.

🦠 Gut Health: With over 15g of fiber, this bowl helps support regularity and feeds beneficial gut bacteria.

🩸 Blood Sugar Support: The combination of protein and fiber may help slow carbohydrate absorption and promote a steadier blood sugar response compared with oats alone.

💪 Muscle Maintenance: Over 30g of protein helps support muscle repair, recovery, and maintenance.

🍎 No Added Sugar: The natural sweetness comes from the Granny Smith apple and cinnamon!

A LITTLE HOLISTIC HEALTH TIP:

Not all carbohydrates are created equal! Instead of simply counting carbs, look at what comes WITH them.

Fiber, protein, healthy fats, and whole-food nutrients matter!

This bowl does contain a substantial amount of carbohydrates, so portion size and individual blood sugar responses are worth considering.

✨ Food isn’t just fuel. It’s an opportunity to nourish your body with intention.

Would you try this apple cinnamon protein-packed breakfast? 🍏🥣
