10/15 is Infant and Pregnancy Loss Remembrance Day, and October is recognized as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. This evening we’re taking a moment to hold this grief for anyone who has experienced such an incredible loss. Your loved ones are remembered. Today, and always, we hope you do not feel alone in your grief. You are loved. They are loved; forever. 🕯️🩵 closing out this day by lighting a candle and observing a moment for you and yours.

Well the Balanced Mama crew had a fantastic time at the Doula Alliance of Arkansas ! We got to celebrate Des’ birthday Friday night as well as DA-AR Doula Of the Year Sarita Hendrix! Of course when this many doulas gather someone is going to get called to a birth and that privilege landed on us this year😁. Between that and Katelyn, Des and Cora all speaking on Saturday we were too scattered to get a group photo of us!!! We all left full of knowledge, good food, fun fellowship, and inspiration.

We’ve had many clients interested in becoming doulas after their own birth experiences. This conference is a great way to learn about all the exciting and historic changes happening around doula work in our state, and hang out with some of the most fun ladies I know!!

She did it!!

Our dear Allison did such a great job growing her Marlo girl for 4 weeks after her water broke at 29 weeks…and We are excited to announce that She decided to make her debut last week! They had a beautiful birth and Marlo is doing great in NICU. We are all so grateful for the care she’s received at UAMS. Many people on her care team: midwives, doctors, nurses, and doulas worked together with this mama to have this wild experience be safe and satisfying. We are all so proud and happy!!

Come hang! ❣️ It’s the last weekend to support doulas and celebrate International Doula Month with our special ice cream from Loblolly!! We are closing out the month with another ice cream social at the SOMA locations, and we want to see all our doula sisters there!! The Doula Alliance of Arkansas will be sponsoring the first 50 scoops of Douladoo! Doulas, bring yourselves and your people and let’s hang out!

Birthing Time Basics is perfect for people who don’t have time to make it to our six week series or as a refresher for seasoned parents. You can expect to discuss how to physically prep for birth, emotional + mental prep for labor, partner support, comfort measures, decision making.

Balanced Baby sets you up to thrive postpartum! Topics include: sleep + self care, basics of breastfeeding, physical/emotional postpartum expectations, newborn behavior.

You’ll leave with a ton of resources, too!
