From garden to bottle. 🌿
Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) has a long history in Asian cooking and traditional medicine, particularly in Southeast Asia.
Rich in aromatic compounds such as citral, lemongrass has demonstrated antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory activity in laboratory studies. Human evidence for medicinal benefits remains limited.
This weekend, I harvested mine, bundled the leaves, and made a lemongrass-infused oil.
One of my favorite things about growing medicinal plants is learning how traditional knowledge and modern science intersect.
A little botany. A little tradition. A lot of curiosity.
