Treneica McKnight’s breast cancer journey began in early 2024, when a screening mammogram revealed an abnormality that was found to be Stage 1 invasive lobular carcinoma. She entrusted her care to physicians at the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, including Dr. Ronda Henry-Tillman, chief of the Breast Surgical Oncology Division, and Dr. Sri Obulareddy, a medical oncologist. After undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments, McKnight in October 2025 received the good news she had been waiting nearly 20 months to hear: Her scans showed no signs of cancer in her body. After her successful treatment, McKnight actively encourages women to never miss their annual mammogram, noting that she was fortunate that her cancer was detected at an early stage.

This week is National Primary Care Week! 🦷🩺

Oral health is part of overall health. Gum disease is linked to conditions like diabetes and heart disease, and oral health during pregnancy matters for both mother and baby. Primary care providers are the first point of contact for many patients, putting them in a position to spot oral health problems early and connect patients to dental care.

It's a perfect opportunity to recognize pediatrician and coalition member Dr. Jessica Cunningham, Arkansas' champion for the 100 Million Mouths Campaign, a national effort to build oral health into the curricula of medical, nursing, and residency programs. The goal: equip future primary care providers to improve the oral health of 100 million people over the next decade.

We're grateful for Dr. Cunningham’s dedication to preparing Arkansas' next generation of providers to care for the whole patient, mouth included!
