๐Ÿ’ก Wisdom Wednesday

Because the more we understand, the better we can support the children we love.

This free RBT training is a wonderful opportunity for parents and caregivers to learn common ABA terminology, better understand the skills their child is working on, and gain insight into how their child learns, communicates, and responds to the world around them.

While this training does not replace your childโ€™s RBT or BCBA, it can help you work more closely with their team, ask informed questions, and carry helpful strategies into everyday life.

The more families and providers understand one another, the stronger that partnership can become. ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ“… Talk About It Tuesday: Mark your calendars and save this resource!

We know the holiday season can bring extra financial stress for many families. The Autism Spectrum Disorder Foundationโ€™s Holiday Gift Card Program offers eligible families an opportunity to apply for Christmas assistance.

Applying does not guarantee that your family will be selected, but it is certainly worth a try. Please review the program details and application information through the link below, and feel free to share this resource with another family who may benefit. ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’š

Today, weโ€™re shining a light on the incredible siblings of children with autism and other special needs. ๐Ÿ’š

So much attention naturally goes toward supporting the child with greater needs, and sometimes siblings can quietly feel overlooked. Yet they are learning, adjusting, loving, and experiencing big feelings of their own.

Their superpower is not that they never struggle. It is the compassion, patience, understanding, and acceptance that can grow through their experiences. But even superheroes need to feel seen, heard, supported, and celebrated.

Today, we celebrate the siblings and remind them that their needs, feelings, and unique gifts matter too. ๐Ÿ’œ

One of the hardest parts of this journey can be watching a child struggle while others only see the behavior on the surface. There is no sign on every childโ€™s back explaining that the noise is too loud, the lights feel painful, or their body simply cannot regulate what it is experiencing.

The stares, comments, and judgments can feel incredibly heavy for families who are already doing everything they can to help their child through a difficult moment. Sometimes, a little knowledge is all it takes to replace judgment with understandingโ€”and understanding can make that burden feel a little lighter. ๐Ÿ’œ

๐Ÿ’ฌ Talk About It Tuesday

It is a difficult conversation and one many families naturally want to avoid. But preparing for our childrenโ€™s future is not giving up or expecting the worst. It is making sure they are surrounded by people who understand, support, and love them.

We spend so much time planning for what our children need today, but it is also important to prepare for tomorrow. Starting the conversation now can help bring greater confidence, security, and peace of mind for the future. ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’š
