Sometimes what I notice isn’t something I should be treating.
One of the most important things I’ve learned throughout my career is knowing the difference between what I can help with and what needs the attention of a specialist.
I take my responsibility as a provider seriously. That means continuing to educate myself, understanding the skin I’m working with, recognizing potential concerns, and being honest when I’m not the right person to address them.
Sharing my personal journey as awareness. (Oh and did I mention most of lashes have fallen out also from the cream 😭)
Sun damage is cumulative. Years of exposure can lead to changes beneath the surface that aren’t always obvious until much later. Some of those changes are cosmetic, but others can become precancerous or cancerous.
And no facial, peel, or laser treatment can effectively treat my lesions.
So wear the damn sunscreen. Every day. Even when it’s cloudy. Even in the winter. Broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher, and not one that’s “in your makeup”
Pay attention to spots that are new, changing, rough, scaly, or simply aren’t healing.
Sometimes the best treatment recommendation I can give you is a referral to someone else. And I’m perfectly okay with that.
