Lately I keep hearing the same thing:
“I don’t know how to get out of this spiral.”
“I just feel helpless.”
And almost every time, when they turn off the noise—whether it’s the news, a podcast, or even certain people—they’re shocked at how quickly freedom shows up. Almost immediately.
Even in Jesus’ time, he warned us with ancient wisdom: what you let in through your eyes and ears shapes the condition of your whole being.
My dad used to say, “Garbage in, garbage out.” He wasn’t wrong. Even if you’re fighting for justice or standing for unity, you don’t have to drink in the bad nonstop to know it’s real.
Because here’s the truth: if all you consume is bad news, your whole view of the world shifts into darkness.
So protect your eyes. Protect your ears. And ask yourself—am I letting others dictate my mood and outlook on the world?
This is still a beautiful world. This is still a country with breathtaking potential. Let’s keep dreaming, and keep pushing for change—together.
