MORNING ROUTINE: YES OR NO? ☀️

My wife Emilia Kuehne · Longevity & Peptides is putting my morning habits under the microscope. 😂

How you start your day matters more than you think.

Some habits set you up for success. Others might be doing more harm than good.

So what’s getting my YES and what’s a definite NO? 👀

Which morning habit are you guilty of? 👇

Your paper coffee cup isn’t just paper. ☕️

Most disposable coffee cups, including those used at popular coffee chains, have a thin plastic lining to prevent leaks.

And when hot coffee comes into contact with that lining, studies suggest that microplastic particles and certain chemicals can migrate into the beverage.

As a preventive medicine physician, I’m interested in reducing unnecessary everyday exposures, especially when the alternative is so simple.

Here’s what I personally do:

I make my coffee in a stainless steel moka pot and drink it from a ceramic or glass cup.

No complicated biohacks. Just one small change to reduce my contact with plastic.

We don’t yet know exactly what these exposures mean for long-term human health, but reducing them where practical makes sense to me.

Did you know your paper coffee cup contains plastic?

Your testosterone goes UP, but you still don’t feel better. Here’s one possible reason.

Enclomiphene citrate is increasingly discussed as an option for men with low testosterone who want to preserve fertility.

It stimulates your body’s own testosterone production by increasing LH and FSH.

But there’s a catch.

Some clinical studies found that enclomiphene also lowered IGF-1, a hormone involved in growth and tissue repair.

Does that explain why some men feel great on enclomiphene while others don’t?

We don’t know yet. And lower IGF-1 doesn’t necessarily mean lower growth hormone.

That’s why I look beyond testosterone numbers when evaluating men’s hormone health.

Have you tried enclomiphene? What was your experience?

I check hormones and insulin resistance before anyone starts a peptide. Most doctors don’t run these thoroughly, and that gap is where people get stuck blaming age for something fixable.

Here’s the order that works:

• Test first: hormones, insulin resistance, full labs
• Correct what’s actually broken
• Reassess how you feel and what you still need
• Then decide if medication, including a GLP-1, makes sense
• Choose a trusted source, since quality varies significantly between suppliers
• Let your labs guide the dose and the protocol, not a guess

More testing up front means fewer wrong turns later. Concrete data beats trial and error every time.

Save this if you’re considering peptides or a GLP-1 and want to start with answers instead of guesses, and follow me for more evidence-based weight loss and longevity education.

Not losing weight? Before increasing your GLP-1 dose, look at how you’re actually eating.

One of the biggest mistakes I see is misunderstanding fasting.

Coffee with creamer, sugar, agave, or other calories breaks your fast. And those small calories, snacks, and bites throughout the day add up quickly.

When I break my own fast, I prioritize protein first. I also generally prefer an eating window of around 8–10 hours rather than trying to squeeze everything into a few hours.

If your weight loss has stalled, look at your:

• Protein intake
• Total calorie intake
• Snacks and drinks
• Eating window
• Food quality

GLP-1 medications are tools. A higher dose isn’t automatically the answer.

Before changing the medication, look at the habits around it.

Save this for your weight loss journey.

🫀 Want to reduce your cardiovascular risk and support healthier arteries? Start with the factors you have control over.

Here are 3 strategies I focus on:

1️⃣ Vitamin K2. K2 plays an important role in calcium metabolism and helps regulate where calcium is deposited in the body.

2️⃣ Control your carbohydrate intake. Especially if you have insulin resistance or poor metabolic health, reducing refined carbohydrates and improving blood sugar control matters for cardiovascular health.

3️⃣ Move every day. Regular exercise supports vascular function, blood pressure, insulin sensitivity and overall heart health.

But before trying to fix anything, know your numbers.

I’m a big believer in testing before treating. A standard cholesterol panel only tells part of the story. Markers like ApoB, insulin, glucose and inflammation help give you a more complete picture of your cardiovascular and metabolic health.

If you want to go deeper with your labs, you can get comprehensive testing with 100+ biomarkers through Superpower

Get your baseline. Make targeted changes. Then retest and see what moved.

🫀 When was the last time you looked beyond your standard cholesterol panel?

If you feel terrible on a GLP-1, don’t automatically blame the medication.

Some of the fatigue, brain fog, headaches, weakness, or nausea people experience during weight loss might also be related to what they’re no longer getting enough of.

When medications like tirzepatide significantly reduce appetite and food intake, it becomes easier to fall short on fluids, electrolytes, protein, and essential micronutrients.

If you’re on a GLP-1, pay attention to these 4 things:

1. ELECTROLYTES + HYDRATION
Eating and drinking less means electrolyte and fluid intake often drops too.
2. MICRONUTRIENTS
Pay attention to nutritional adequacy, including thiamine (B1), B12, vitamin D, and other essential nutrients.
3. PROTEIN
Prioritize adequate protein during weight loss to support lean mass.
4. RESISTANCE TRAINING
Protein alone isn’t enough. Your muscles need a reason to stay. Lift weights, use resistance bands, machines, or your own body weight consistently.

GLP-1 treatment should be more than taking a medication and watching the number on the scale go down.

The goal is better body composition while protecting your muscle, strength, nutrition, and energy along the way.

SAVE this if you’re currently taking a GLP-1.

And SEND it to someone who keeps saying, “I just don’t feel like myself since starting.”

Did you know that you can achieve a more defined jawline and improved facial features by training your facial muscles💪

I agree with Andrew Huberman that exercising your facial muscles, especially the muscles defining your jawline, can greatly improve your facial structure. This is one of the most profound anti-aging treatments that you can do, and it can give you better results than surgery.

The Facelifter(R) is a product that I helped develop and patent, and have been using for the past 15+ years 2 min every day.

Studies on GLP-1 medications show up to 40 percent of weight lost comes from lean mass, not fat. Semaglutide and tirzepatide trials found the same pattern. Appetite drops fast. Protein intake drops with it. Without enough protein and resistance training, your body pulls from muscle right alongside fat.

Muscle is not about how you look. It controls glucose metabolism, insulin sensitivity, bone density, and how strong and mobile you stay as you age. Lose it fast on the way down and you pay for it later.

Here is what I tell my patients starting a GLP-1:

Eat enough protein every day.
Strength train. Walking will not preserve muscle.
Stop chasing the highest dose. Response matters more than speed.
Track body composition, not only the number on the scale.

The goal was never a smaller version of an unhealthy body. The goal is a stronger, healthier one.

Would you rather lose 20 pounds, or lose 10 pounds of fat and keep your muscle? Tell me in the comments.
