If I had to start my wedding planning business from scratch, here’s EXACTLY what I would do… 👇🏽
As someone who’s spent 10+ years in the wedding industry, planned 600+ weddings, and learned the lessons the hard way… I wouldn’t start by worrying about a logo, website, or having thousands of followers.
I’d focus on these 7 things:
1. Pick a profitable niche. Stop trying to be everything to everyone. Get crystal clear on who you serve and why they should choose YOU.
2. Create an offer people actually want. Package your expertise around the transformation your ideal client is looking for… not just a list of services.
3. Price for profit from day one. You don’t need 20 weddings a year to make great money. You need the right pricing, positioning, and clients.
4. Become KNOWN for something. Your content should make people think, “She is THE planner for ___.”
5. Build relationships, not just followers. Venues, vendors, photographers, planners, venues, past clients…your network can become one of your biggest lead generators.💯
6. Create a sales process. Stop hoping inquiries turn into bookings. Have a system for responding, connecting, presenting your value, and closing.
7. Build a business that doesn’t require YOU at every single wedding. This is the part I wish more planners understood. You aren’t building a job. You’re building a business.✅
And if I were starting today?
I would NOT spend years trying to figure it all out alone.
I’d find someone who had already built the business I wanted & learn the blueprint.
Because experience can be expensive when you have to learn every lesson yourself. ✨
Wedding planning is an incredible career. But you deserve to build it in a way that gives you freedom, money, & a life you actually love.
