We are sad to announce that after intense analysis, we will not be offering summer camp this year.
Reasons:
1. Lack of skilled employees available and willing to work at a camp counselor rate.
2. Rate allowed for a 1:4 ratio is not cost effective. Many kids need a higher level of support in the community.
3. Does not meet the criteria for the HCBS final ruling.
4. We are offering to support kids in local summer day camps that are inclusive using alternative funding.
We are hosting an information session May 11th and May 14th. Email [email protected] to receive the link for the meeting.

ACTION ALERT: The disability system is facing a serious workforce shortage and people with disabilities are either going without services, or not getting the full services they need. Last year, this Legislature passed a historic budget that included a “phased-in” five-year plan to close the $1.8 billion funding gap to the disability system that would ultimately stabilize the workforce for direct support professionals and regional center service coordinators. Unfortunately, the bulk of this funding doesn’t begin until 2024/2025.

Urge California Governor Newsom and your elected officials to accelerate that funding by one year, to address the staffing crisis and build a future that will provide Californians with disabilities and the professionals who provide their supports and services a chance to live full and equitable lives.
