We are not separate from nature; we are an exact reflection of it. Look closely at the incredible similarity between the blood vessels in our bodies and the network of the Amazon River.

Nature repeats its most efficient designs across different scales, proving that the same life flowing through the Earth flows through us.

Grounding is the quickest, most natural way to get out of your head, get into your body, and turn off fight-or-flight mode. Your nervous system doesn’t need a complicated reset button, and you don’t even have to taike off your shoes. Sometimes it just needs to touch the earth. Have you tried it?

What does the mind-body connection mean for our hearts? After a lecture by Dr. Shivkumar, one of the UCLA cardiologists who saved my life, I’m reflecting on the autonomic nervous system. He calls it the body’s Wi-Fi. I think of it as our control panel. It’s something I explore in my upcoming book, Heartquake, and a conversation I want to keep having here: how stress affects our bodies and how we can make more room for rest and recovery.

Life isn’t happening to you, it’s happening for you. You may not understand it in the moment or see where it’s taking you, but even the experiences that shake us can change our direction, our perspective and the way we move through life. Trust that what feels uncertain today may be leading you somewhere you couldn’t see before.
