🌼Before you cut that lawn, take a moment to notice who's thriving in it. In Louisville, many of the plants we call “weeds” are actually vital food sources for pollinators like bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects. 🐝

✨ Dandelions
✨ Clover
✨ Chickweed
✨ Purple deadnettle
✨ Wild violets
✨ Ground ivy (creeping Charlie)

These early bloomers provide nectar and pollen when little else is available. What looks like a mess to us is a whole buffet to them.

💛 Every flower left uncut helps keep our ecosystem healthy and connected.

Let it grow. Let them land. Let it all bloom. 🌿

What started as a seed of an idea has blossomed into something bigger 🌱

At HumbleBee Wellness, we 🐝lieve creativity and sustainability go hand-in-hand. Many everyday items we throw away can be transformed into something beautiful, purposeful, and playful for our children💛

Let’s work together to upcycle and create:

•Eco-friendly craft kits
•Imaginative toys & sensory bins
•Mini greenhouses and whimsical wands
…for 250 Jefferson County youth!

Examples of what we can reuse:

•Food scraps → compost for plant kits
•Plastic takeout containers → mini greenhouses
•Egg cartons, corks, bottle tops, pouch caps → kid-crafted masterpieces

Many times, we’re quick to toss things that still have purpose. Did you know those items could be transformed into something beautiful and meaningful.

Here’s how you can help:

•Plastic takeout containers and glass jars make great mini greenhouses or planters for seedlings! 🪴💚🌱
•Recyclables like egg cartons, cardboard, bottle caps, corks, old cds, aluminum can tabs, and even the tops of baby food pouches can become art. 👩🏾‍🎨🎨💜

We’re working toward a goal: to create one of a kind upcycled art kits for 250 youth in Jefferson County & we need your help to make it happen!

Need a pickup or meetup? I’m happy to coordinate based on location and the amount of recyclables collected.

🚨We have an urgent community need🚨
One of our repeat Mama's contacted us for assistance. She will be starting her Junior year at The University of Kentucky this fall. Unfortunately, she has an outstanding balance of $1,100 that needs to be paid ASAP. If this balance is not paid by Monday June 2nd, she will be automatically unenrolled and will lose her family housing placement.
Due to FERPA she has had to grant us access to make payments directly to her student account.

Nature provides an abundance of healing herbs right in our backyards! Whether you’re exploring forests, meadows, or riverbanks, here are a few reminders for ethical foraging:

✅ Know before you go – Use a field guide or app to identify herbs safely.
✅ Harvest with care – Take only what you need, leaving enough for regrowth and wildlife.
✅ Respect the land – Avoid private property and follow local foraging regulations.
✅ Mind the ecosystem – Be mindful of endangered plants and avoid overharvesting.
