At Bridge Street Health, Dr. Michael Hendrixson gets to know his patients personally: their history, their families, and what matters to them. That takes unhurried visits and a practice built around knowing you. As a patient, you can reach your doctor directly by phone or text, or book an appointment when you need it. This is primary care the way it should be.

Before your first appointment, Dr. Hendrixson will spend time reviewing your medical history in detail, so your visit starts with understanding, not paperwork. Behind the scenes, our physician-pharmacist care team work through complex health issues together. A certified health coach and our food-as-medicine program support you on gut health and chronic inflammation.

Membership is $120/month or $1,350/year, with discounts for patients under 30 and for families. It includes unlimited visits, direct phone and text access to your doctor, and no copays and no insurance claims. You can still use your insurance for labs, imaging, specialists or hospital visits just like you do today. HSA, FSA and HRA dollars can be used for your membership.

Here at Bridge Street Health, we take heart health seriously -- because for Dr. Hendrixson, it's personal! Nine months ago, he did an EKG on his wife, Rebecca, which ultimately led to a life-saving open-heart surgery. She's doing amazing now, but it was quite a scare!

If you don't have a doctor who is talking to you about your risk for cardiac disease, consider us for your primary care needs. We prioritize you AND your heart health!

Call to schedule a free 15-minute Meet and Greet with Dr. Hendrixson to see if joining our practice could be the next best thing you can do for your health AND your heart.

"Yesterday I had the honor of attending an event sponsored by the Cincinnati chapter of the American Heart Association. After experiencing the shock of an emergency open heart surgery in January, I have become very interested in all things heart.

The American Heart Association does great work. They get into the community. Among other things, there is a Cincinnati Heart Mini-Marathon & Walk, Hard Hats with Heart, an initiative tailored to address high rates of cardiovascular disease in physically demanding construction and industrial fields, and Go Red for Women, a campaign dedicated to raising stroke/heart disease awareness. Heart disease kills more women than all cancers combined. Let that sink in.

The AHA projects that nearly 6 in 10 women have some form of cardiovascular disease in the next 25 years. Think of the women in your life - 60% do or will have heart issues. There are things you can do to help. Know the symptoms; heart attacks in women present differently than in men. Take a CPR course. Some local fire departments and occasionally the American Red Cross offer free courses. Encourage the women you love to have their doctors do a thorough evaluation of their risk.

Be an advocate, for yourself and for them and do it with your whole heart, your whole heart. For the love."

National Love People Day

September 30 is National Love People Day. It is a call to lift others up through the power of unconditional love. Life is a rollercoaster ride of celebrations and trials. National Love People Day is tasking us with the dedication of loving people consistently, no matter which part of the roller coaster ride we are experiencing. When we wholeheartedly love our neighbors as ourselves, things change. This plays out in our families, our communities, our cities, our states, our country, our world. This is not a suggestion, it is a command from the heavenly realms. Not to be taken lightly.

Sacrificial giving is the way to show unconditional love. That is where the rubber meets the road. Sure, that can mean financial giving, but wow, the really amazing part is that much of we can give is FREE. Free! Companionship, information, advice, encouragement, or a hug. Even a simple smile of understanding may be exactly what someone needs today.

Here is the truly upside-down part of this. Loving and giving provide significant mental and physical health benefits. Generosity creates a lasting sense of joy and improved self-esteem while actively combatting depression and isolation. Acts of kindness and affectionate gestures relax blood vessels and reduce blood pressure and cortisol levels. Additionally, there is a correlation between empathetic actions and lower mortality rates.

Oh my goodness. The more you give, the more you get? What a world.
