“It’s a brand-new home” should never be the reason mold concerns get dismissed.
This one hits close to home. After navigating mold and remediation during our own new build, I know how exhausting it can be to advocate for your family in a place that was supposed to be a fresh start.
It’s also why I speak about this through MoldMend. Families deserve to understand what’s happening in their homes and have their concerns taken seriously.
FOX 13’s Allie Corey has reported on mold and construction defects in Tampa Bay homes, including an investigation by the Florida Attorney General’s Office. Her post encourages affected homeowners to submit complaints so their experiences are documented.
If you’re dealing with mold or construction defects in your Florida home, please consider sharing your experience through the official complaint form below. Keep your photos, inspection reports, repair records, and written communications together to help explain what happened.
And if you’re buying or building: please don’t assume “new” means there can’t be moisture problems or mold. Independent inspections and qualified mold assessments when concerns arise can help you make informed decisions.
You are not being difficult by asking questions. You are advocating for your home and your family.
