Well folks, we survived our first day of Medicare reviews with Tim Newsome - Insurance Agent on site at Baker Brothers, and let me tell ya… y’all kept him BUSY, and he saved a lot of people money and confusion!!!

Please, please do not try and figure out what plan is best for you on your own when there are experts ready and willing to help! Tim will be set up at the pharmacy every Wednesday during open enrollment to help you find the best plan. Remember, plans change every year, whether that be with monthly premiums or medication formularies. This is a service at no cost or obligation to you!!

💊 Happy National Pharmacy Technician Day! 💊

In honor of National Pharmacy Week, we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible pharmacy technicians who help keep Baker Brothers running every single day!

Our pharmacy simply could not function without them! From preparing prescriptions and answering patient questions to communicating with physicians’ offices, managing inventory, and handling countless tasks behind the scenes, our technicians play a vital role in caring for our patients, and we are proud to say we have some of the best in the biz!

Their hard work, attention to detail, and dedication do not go unnoticed. Pharmacy can be a fast-paced and demanding environment, and we are so thankful for the people who show up every day and help make it all happen.

We recommend doing a plan review every year regardless of whether you are happy with your current plan because costs, availability, and covered medications can change. Starting Wednesday, October 21st, Baker Brothers will have a licensed agent on site to review and help you pick a plan at no cost to you, and you do not have to be a current patient!

💊 Behind the Counter at Baker Brothers: Keeping Medications in Stock 💊

We receive multiple medication orders every single day from different wholesalers. Some arrive through delivery services like FedEx and UPS, which means shipping delays can sometimes disrupt our supply.

One question we often hear is, “Why don’t you have my medication in stock?” The reality is that it’s simply not possible for us to keep every medication on our shelves, and there are several reasons why:

👉 It may be a medication we’ve never dispensed before. With thousands of medications available, we can’t anticipate every prescription that comes through our doors.

👉 We may have stocked it previously, but it expired before anyone needed it. Medications have expiration dates, and if something consistently goes unused, it doesn’t always make sense to reorder it.

👉 Some medications are expensive. As a small business, we have to be mindful of our inventory. We simply cannot afford to have thousands of dollars tied up in medications that may sit untouched on our shelves.

👉 Supply and demand can affect availability. Sometimes a medication is in high demand, experiencing a manufacturer shortage, or simply unavailable from our wholesalers.

Our goal is to have what you need, when you need it, but balancing medication availability, expiration dates, costs, and unpredictable shipping delays is a daily challenge.

We appreciate your patience and understanding when medications have to be ordered or deliveries don’t arrive as expected. We are proud to be your hometown pharmacy, serving you since 1928. 💙
