We’ve seen the power of our SCCS community. I am “just” a substitute teacher there but I remember Cyprus as a very sweet girl. Her mom has been diagnosed with lung cancer. She needs help taking care of her mom. If you can’t donate, please share.
Cyprus would like people to DM her for her mom’s mailing address if you’d like to donate directly. Even though this is not pediatric cancer, my heart goes out to this family.

Please consider helping out a former Sandy Creek Student and her family.
Cyprus played soccer and volleyball and graduated in 2025.

"As some of you may have heard, my mom was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer. This has completely changed her life, and our whole families dynamic. She is unable to work and is now facing chemotherapy and radiation. Since she was driving a work truck, she is also left without a vehicle. Me and lily are making an hour-long trip to get her to her medical appointments and treatments, since she now lives in baldwinsville. As anyone knows, me and lily would do anything for our mom, but the world is unfortunately very expensive lately, and we have both taken time from our jobs to help take care of her.

We want our mom to be able to focus on fighting this cancer without the added stress of worrying about transportation and finances. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean so much to our family during this difficult time. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing her GoFundMe to help spread the word."

Hunter was presented with the check from Brew Fest, Celebrations and ROCC tonight!
If you want to shop for jewelry this holiday season at a local business that truly makes a difference in the community, check out the great people at Celebrations in Watertown, NY.

Today was a special day! 💛

Hunter Stoffel and his family stopped by the store, and we were so happy to present them with a check for $13,500!

Hunter is a 9-year-old local hockey player who has been battling Ewing sarcoma, a rare form of cancer that affects the bones or surrounding soft tissue. His courage and determination have inspired an entire community to rally behind him.

No child should have to face cancer. And no family should have to face it alone. While we can't take away the challenges that come with a pediatric cancer diagnosis, we can come together to help lighten the load.

All of the funds were raised through a team effort between Celebrations and Rock Out Childhood Cancer (ROCC) through Brew York Festival. From our diamond raffle to the incredible support of the Brew York community, every dollar represents people coming together for Hunter and his family.

YOU ALL ARE INCREDIBLE. THANK YOU!

Our hearts are with the families and communities in Northern New York affected by a concerning number of recent Ewing sarcoma diagnoses. 💛

Ewing sarcoma is a rare cancer that primarily affects children, adolescents and young adults. When multiple families within one community are facing this diagnosis, the impact is profound — and their questions, concerns and need for support deserve attention.

At this time, no cause or environmental connection has been established. New York State health officials are monitoring the situation as families and community members seek answers.

At Sarcoma Strong, our mission has always been to Engage. Encourage. Inspire. We stand with these patients and their families and with every person facing a sarcoma diagnosis.

You are not alone. 💛

Prayers for Jack Ewing Sarcoma Warrior from Baldwinsville, that he gets clear scans on Tuesday.🎗️🙏🎗️

September update

Over the next week, we start the next step of this journey with Jack's follow-up appointments and his scans.

On 9/29, we go for his first scans since March, which was after 4 and before the last 8 rounds of chemo and prior to radiation to hopefully hear that he is NED (no evidence of disease).

To say we are a bit anxious is an understatement because as anyone who has been through this journey knows, there will never be just another scan. There will be anxiety in the weeks leading up to the tests, the waiting between to see the doctor and the praying that his symptoms or growths never return, even if statistics say that it is a possibility.

On January 2, 2026, Jack went to the hospital, for what we thought was a bulging disc and pinched nerve to be absolutely blindsided with a Ewing Sarcoma diagnosis. The scan next Tuesday is a reminder that things can change in the blink of an eye.

Please say prayers for us as we start this next path and pray Jack can keep this in his rear view mirror.
