North Shore Myofascial Release Helping women heal pain and chronic pain so you can live active lives pain-free.

You stretch. You do your exercises. You make time for appointments.

So it’s frustrating when that familiar hip, back, neck, or jaw pain returns.
Maybe you feel better for a few days. Then you wake up stiff again or start reconsidering that longer walk.

One area that may not have been addressed yet is your fascia. That’s what I’m working with during myofascial release, paying attention to restrictions throughout your body, including areas beyond where you feel the pain.

We also talk about how you move through your day, what helps, and what changes between sessions.
For some clients, I recommend appointments closer together so we can follow up on those changes and adjust the work. The timing depends on your needs, goals, and response to treatment.

If you’ve been putting effort into feeling better and still feel stuck, let’s talk about what you’re experiencing.

She wanted to dance again.

After 25 years of back pain, this client was spending more time lying down and doing less of what she loved. She had tried several approaches that helped, but the relief hadn’t seemed to last.

We met twice a week for hands-on myofascial release. I worked with her whole body, with particular attention to her hips, legs, and pelvis.

I also taught her therapy ball techniques for self-care between our sessions.

In her review, she describes improvements in posture and strength and returning to dancing three or four days a week.
“I am dancing a few times a week again and that brings great joy.”

Her experience is individual, and results vary. Knowing what you want to return to helps us set attainable goals for your care.

““Will I be hurting afterward?”

When you’ve lived with pain for years, that question can come up before you even say yes.

You want to join the walk, go on the hike, or spend the afternoon with friends. But you’re already thinking about how you’ll feel that evening or the next morning.

I hear this often from women who come to my practice. They’ve put so much effort into feeling better and want to enjoy being active again.

When we work together, we talk about what feels difficult, what you’ve tried, and what you’d like to do more comfortably. I tailor your myofascial release sessions to your needs and goals.

I went to Baltimore on my own and came home feeling more confident

Last weekend I attended EO Nerve, a conference focused on health and wellness. Going by myself pushed me outside my comfort zone, and I’m so glad I went.

I met so many wonderful people and had great conversations about health, wellness, and community.
There was plenty of learning, along with a fun evening at Under Armour headquarters with food trucks, live music, and games.

One takeaway I’m bringing home is keeping a consistent wake-up time, something we discussed in a session about sleep.

What stayed with me most, though, was the connection. Meeting new people, sharing experiences, and feeling more comfortable putting myself out there.

It also reminded me of something I hear from new clients. Trying myofascial release for the first time can feel unfamiliar, and a little nerve-racking. I’m always happy to answer questions and talk through what to expect.

What’s something you’re glad you tried, even though you were nervous?
