My brain and heart divorced
a decade ago
over who was
to blame about
how big of a mess
I have become
eventually,
they couldn't be

with each other
now my head and heart
share custody of me
I stay with my brain
during the week
and my heart
gets me on the weekends

of yelling - and crying

lately, I've been
spending a lot of
time with my gut
who serves as my
unofficial therapist
most nights, I sneak out of the
window in my ribcage
and slide down my spine
and collapse on my
gut's plush leather chair
that's always open for me
- and I just sit sit sit sit
until the sun comes up
last evening,
my gut asked me
if I was having a hard
time being caught
between my heart
and my head
I nodded
I said I didn't know
if I could live with
either of them anymore
"my heart is always sad about
something that happened yesterday
while my head is always worried
about something that may happen tomorrow,"
I lamented
my gut squeezed my hand
"I just can't live with
my mistakes of the past
or my anxiety about the future,"
I sighed
my gut smiled and said:
"in that case,
you should
go stay with your
lungs for a while,"
I was confused
- the look on my face gave it away
"if you are exhausted about
your heart's obsession with
the fixed past and your mind's focus
on the uncertain future
your lungs are the perfect place for you
there is no yesterday in your lungs
there is no tomorrow there either
there is only now
there is only inhale
there is only exhale
there is only this moment
there is only breath
and in that breath
you can rest while your
heart and head work
their relationship out."

First, thank you, Patrina Smalls, for sharing this article. I appreciate the idea of setting intentions versus resolutions.
Personally, my only resolution every year and every day are not to be the same person tomorrow that I am today. Every day provides an opportunity to learn, grow, expand, and adjust to the current of life.
2020 certainly shifted the daily current for us all. I hope that there has been a realization that success follows wellbeing, we need compassion for others as they are navigating through life, and the understanding of how systematically interdependent were all are.
My intention for 2021 - Provide a space for people to safely dream of life as it is today, not as it was yesterday, and assist them in designing their unique definition of and a path to success.

Here is a blend to help your family's brains with better recall, task management, and follow-through.
When to use: diffuse at homework time. Or apply topically on the back of the neck and across the forehead from a roller. Consider making a roller for use before your student takes his or her test.
Have them roll it on for good memory recall! These are also good to use before school. Need help with chores? This might be a good blend to diffuse for that extra motivation as well!
Remember, All of these blends can be diffuser or roller blends. There are no quantities listed as you will add the number of drops you like to your diffuser, or dilute to preference in your rollers.
These are useful combos for people with or without kiddos, and some are staple blends everyone should have on hand!

There are three rooms you may select from, based on availability: “Body/Energy” room which has a massage table for various practices such as massage, Access Bars®, reiki, etc., accommodates 2 -4 people* based on The “Coaching” room equipped with a monitor and sitting area to be used for neurofeedback, individual coaching, or therapy sessions, accommodates 2 -5 people. The “Classroom” an open room accommodates 8 - 10 people. The facility also provides internet access and a quiet sitting area and outdoor space.
