AOTA's Older Driver Safety Awareness Week, recognized on December 4–8, aims to promote understanding of the importance of mobility and transportation for seniors. Many older adults have a difficult time remaining active in the community due to limited mobility. We would like to join AOTA in removing this barrier. Here are 3 tips to help you find your way around.

1. Carpool with others in your neighborhood. For example, you could ride with them to the grocery store.
2. Trade favors in exchange for rides. Maybe you could help them care for their plants while they go on vacation.
3. Try driving services such as Uber.

Losing the ability to drive does not have to mean losing your ability to participate your community, it just means you need to be a little more creative. :)
