WE WILL NEVER FORGET — SEPTEMBER 11, 2001
Twenty-five years ago today, on September 11, 2001, our nation experienced a tragedy that forever changed America.
Today, we pause to remember the 2,977 innocent souls who were taken from us and the countless families whose lives were forever changed.
We especially honor the first responders who answered the call that morning and ran toward unimaginable danger while others were trying to escape.
343 firefighters
8 EMS professionals
72 law enforcement officers
They reported for duty expecting an ordinary day. Instead, they demonstrated extraordinary courage, compassion, sacrifice, and service.
We also remember the thousands of first responders, recovery workers, military members, and others who have suffered illness or lost their lives in the years since as a result of their service following the attacks.
For those of us who serve in emergency services today, September 11 carries a profound meaning. The men and women who answered the call that morning remind us what it truly means to serve, to show up when people need us most, regardless of the danger or uncertainty ahead.
Twenty-five years later, Mercy Ambulance honors the fallen, their families, the survivors, and every person whose life was forever changed that September morning.
May we continue to tell their stories.
May we continue to honor their sacrifice.
May we continue to serve our communities with the same courage and compassion they demonstrated.
2,977 souls. 25 years later. Never forgotten.
