Andrew and Johnathan will be representing our community while spending the next few days learning, networking, checking out the latest in EMS, and bringing home new ideas that can help us continue growing and improving here at Riverside.

Opportunities like this are about more than attending a conference. They are a chance to learn from EMS professionals from across the country, see where our profession is headed, and bring that knowledge right back home to the people and communities we serve.

We are excited for them and hope they have a safe trip, learn a ton, make some great connections, and have a little fun along the way.

Today, we remember.

We remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We remember the firefighters, EMS professionals, law enforcement officers, dispatchers, healthcare workers, and countless ordinary people who ran toward danger when others were trying to escape it.

We remember the families who never got to say goodbye, the responders who carried the weight of that day for years afterward, and a nation that, for a moment, was reminded just how much courage, sacrifice, and service can mean.

For those of us who wear a uniform and answer the call, September 11 will always carry a special weight.

May we never forget the lives lost.

May we never forget those who served.

And may we always strive to be worthy of the example they left behind.

EMS is more than a profession. It’s a family.

We may wear different uniforms or work for different services, and answer calls in different communities, but when one of our own hurts, all of us feel it.

Our hearts are with the entire Pafford family during this incredibly difficult time. We ask everyone in the EMS community, and everyone who supports those who serve, to keep Jamie, Carol, and Greg, along with the entire Pafford team and the Pafford family, in your thoughts and prayers.

We are incredibly proud to congratulate our Public Relations Director, Andrew Perry, on being named the 2026 NAEMT EMT of the Year, sponsored by Demers-Braun-Crestline-Medix.

This is one of the nation’s highest individual honors in EMS, recognizing one EMT for exceptional service, leadership, advocacy, professionalism, and dedication to the profession.

Formed in 1975 and more than 110,000 members strong, NAEMT is the only national association representing the professional interests of all emergency and mobile healthcare clinicians

Andrew is only the 10th person from Arkansas in the history of the award to receive this national honor and the first Arkansan since 2014. Out of EMTs serving communities across the country, this year’s recipient comes from right here in Northeast Arkansas. Not only is this a reflection of Andrew's dedication to EMS, it’s a reflection on Riverside Ambulance and on the communities we serve.

We couldn’t be more proud to see one of our own carry Arkansas EMS onto the national stage.
