Part 2 of my ankle sprain journey 🦶
2.5 weeks in to a pretty rough ankle sprain and man what a ride it’s been. Currently booted up for at least 2 more weeks and then reassessing from there 😅
But to speed up the healing process, we started shockwave therapy today!
For those of you who don’t know…
Focused Shockwave Therapy uses high-energy sound waves that pe*****te deep into injured tissue, creating tiny mechanical signals that stimulate the body’s natural repair processes 🧬 These signals increase blood flow, activate stem cells, and promote collagen production, which helps repair muscles, tendons and ligaments.
There’s actually some pretty solid research behind it for certain stubborn tendon issues and overuse injuries.
If you’re someone who loves staying active, trains hard, or deals with nagging aches and pains, this is definitely something worth looking into.
It’s not a magic fix or a replacement for proper rehab, but I’m excited to see how it fits into my (and my future patients’) recovery.
Always looking for ways to keep doing what I love and get back to moving well 💪🏼⚡️
