🧠 ADHD Isn't Just About Not Paying Attention
At school, ADHD might look like:
-Forgetting instructions
-Difficulty starting assignments
-Losing focus
-Feeling overwhelmed by large tasks
At home, it might look like:
-Explosive emotions
-Constant reminders
-Homework battles
-Forgetting simple routines
-Difficulty transitioning from one activity to another
Your child isn't lazy. Their brain may simply need different support and strategies.
ADHD can impact much more than attention. It can affect organization, emotional regulation, transitions, confidence, and everyday family life.
The good news? The brain is adaptable. When we better understand how a child's brain is functioning, we can begin supporting them in ways that work with them instead of constantly fighting against them. 💙
Save this post for the days you need the reminder: your child is having a hard time—they're not trying to give you a hard time.
