Gua sha isn’t just for your face!

While gua sha has become popular in the beauty world, it’s actually a traditional Chinese medicine technique that’s been used for centuries for so much more.

Gua sha is often used to relieve muscular pain, improve circulation, release tension, and address areas of restricted movement. It’s also traditionally used to support the body’s response to respiratory illnesses.

It’s one of my favorite tools for working on tight, sore muscles, especially through the neck, shoulders, and upper back.

Today I’m giving myself a taste of my own medicine on my lunch break! Between carrying a baby and a new program at Moms on Fire Fitness Studio , my muscles have been asking for a little extra love lately.

A few minutes of gua sha, some Chinese herbal pain relief, and a reminder that I need to take care of my body too.

I’m always so grateful for this medicine and the simple, effective tools it gives me to take care of myself and the people around me 🤍

In Chinese medicine, emotions aren’t separate from the physical body.
