If you've been stretching your chest, strengthening your upper back, and constantly reminding yourself to "sit up straight"... but your body keeps falling right back into forward posture...
There may be something you're overlooking.
✨ Scar tissue.
Scars aren't just marks on your skin. They can create restrictions in the fascia underneath, and over time those restrictions can pull on the surrounding tissues.
The tight scar tissue and actually be pulling you forward, completely fighting against the opening up exercises you are doing.
Think about scars from:
• A C-section
• Gallbladder surgery
• Laparoscopic procedures
• An appendix removal
• Even smaller scars around your abdomen
If those scars have become restricted, they can make it harder for your body to fully straighten—even if you're doing all the right stretches and exercises.
That doesn't mean you should stop working on your posture. It means you may need to address what's pulling you forward in the first place.
You need to be massaging and releasing your scars.
Sometimes the body isn't resisting change...
It's responding to tension that's been there all along.
If you need help learning how to release your scars, schedule an appointment with me and I'll show you!
